Anyone do Lymphocyte Immune Therapy or IVIG after mmc to achieve successful pregnancy?

I have had 3 miscarriages.  First 2 were blighted ovums, last one was a missed miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat.  We found out I have a blood clotting problem and I was treated with heparin, progesterone, BA, folic acid 3 x a day, and prednisone this last time around.  We got the furthest we ever had as the other 2 pregnancies were empty sacs.  This time we finally had a baby with a heartbeat but at my 11 week scan the baby was only measuring 8 weeks 3 days and had no heartbeat.  They think we have the clotting problem solved but now they think my blood is fighting off the baby as we had genetic testing done and it as a normal boy.  My RE suggested we try Lymphocyte Immune Therapy. (LIT)  (where they take DH's white blood cells and put them into me)  Dr, Beer used this procedure in the US for some time but now it is not legal anymore and we would have to go to Mexico or Canada. The other option is IVIG.  Both of these procedures scare me as I am worried I might catch some disease. I desperatly want a baby and we have considered the Mexico thing and talked to a patient that has done this with sucess  but I just wanted to get some input and see if anyone has done this as well with success?  I really want to do the LIT procedure but I'm afraid.   Going to Mexico for blood work scares me.

I am so sorry for your losses. I have had two mcs myself, and I know how devestating they can be.

I was on 40mg of lovenox (like heperin) and 5.2 grams of folic acid (for compound heterozygous mthfr and protein s deficiency) for the first twelve weeks of my third pregnancy, and had twins six weeks ago. I know that the lovenox and folic acid was the thing that made the difference for me. I truly believe that is the only reason I was able to stay pregnant.

I don't know much about either lit or ivig, but I do know that they discuss these topics on ivfconnections.com so you will find info there. You do need to register with the site, but it is free. I lived on that site during my ivfs/pregnancies and felt that there was someone (and usually many people) who answered all my questions (many on heperin and blood clotting).  I know it would be beneficial even if you aren't doing ivf or iuis.

I hope that helps some. Good luck.

baby1234-Thanks for the info.  Congratson your twins. I hope I am lucky enough to finally have a baby.  Iwent and saw a psychic and he said I was going to be pregnant within 8 months and have twin girls and then have a boy later.  Ihope he is right.I will chekc out that site when I get a chance.

Just talked to my RE's office andI have zeroed out!!!  Finally!!!  I’m so happy:)  Now I just have to wait for the blood work to come back so we can see if we have to go do the Mexico thing or if I have to see a blood specialilst.  The thing that sucks though is that it is going to take a couple more weeks to get those in:(  Last night DH and I had a great night. I wanted to TTC so bad:(  But I don’t want to risk losing another baby either. My fertility monitor says I am in high fertility today so I should reach peak probably tomorrow or Thursday. It is so tempting!  I kind of wish our son would have just come back as chromosomal so we could try again and that it was a random thing but on the other hand I am happy he was a normal healthy baby and that I am capable of having a normal child.  I don’t think we will be able to TTC again until Jan or Feb if I have to go get that treatment in Mexico:(  I’m bummed about that.  I am trying to be patient but it is hard.  I feel like we are wasting time but I know we have to get my body ready and prepared for another pregnancy.
