My doc doesn't seem concerned about it. I was just wondering if it was "normalNormal saline flush", or if anyone else experienced it? Pre-pg I weighed 124. I got up to 143 (total gain of about 19lbs). Then I started loosing about a pound a week. I am now down to 138 at 38w. I have been getting sick, but that has been throughout the entire pg, so I don't se why it would be affecting me now....?The baby isn't losing any weight (thank God). So what the heck? 124 to 138 is only 14 lbs! I am only 4'10", and it is allllllll in my belly. Just wondering if anyone else had this happen...?
My friend just had her baby and she lost 4 lbs in here last wk of pregnancy. I don't think ppl usually do, but hey, if it isn't affecting the baby, be glad! That's how i'd look at it!!! and she gained about the same as u, and she can fit into her jeans she wore before her pregnancy now, only 2 wks after having her baby. :)))) I've only gained 13 lbs. and i'm 33 wks, but i'm counting the weight i lost to begin with, and now have gained that weight back, so i'm actually only 5 lbs over my pregnancy weight! yay
Normally, you are supposed to add one pound per week in the last trimester. But I have heard some womenWomen's way not gaining weight in the third trimester. They just get stuck at a particular weight probably because it has reached the limit. But I have not heard of weight loss. However, womenWomen's way with gestationalGestational diabetes Gestational trophoblastic disease diabetes in some cases, lose weight due to dietary restrictions and then do not gain much weight which is not unusual. Check with another OB-GYN if you can.
I know when I was pregnant with DS I lost so much wieght during my pregnancy but I was sick (and I eman sick) for the entire nine months. All my nutrients were going right to my DS (which is why it was important for me to take my pre-natals) and he was fine...mommy was just a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys undernourished. I even had my doctors really worried about me; my ketoid (however you spell it) was low but i don't remember them doing much about it (this was 7 yrs ago). It all worked out fine though and he was born 7lbs and 10oz and I was surprisingly okay too. Right after having him, the littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys bit of lbs i did have fell right off...I was smaller after giving birth than I was before I got pregnant...go figure.
No, she isn't concerned at all. Which makes me not too concerned about it.
I've been really sick the entire time as well, but this is the first of me actually losing weight.
I did read in "What to Expect..." that some women do start to lose weight when they are close to delivery. Well, it has been about 4 weeks now! How close are they talking here????
with both of my children, I lost weight in the last couple weeks. First it stayed the same, then started dropping. Baby books say this is normal because it's your body way of getting ready for labor. Something to do with the baby dropping. The baby will still gain weight, but you won't. water weight??
My high risk doc said some of it may be the extra amniotic fluid that I had. Other than that, I hadn't put on any water weight. No swelling anywhere or anything like that. The baby has dropped dramatically the past few weeks though. I didn't know that could cause weight loss..
Actually it is common to lose weight the last few weeks of pregnancy. There is less room in your stomach so you fill up quicker. Also, depending on the day, you may not be retaining as much water. If there is a large decrease (ie, around 10 lbs) they might be a bit concerned about preeclampsia but it sounds like you are doing ok.
Pre-preg., I weighed about 180-185. As the preg. progressed, I got up to about 205, they found that I have gestational diabetes and put me on a diet, and I went from 205 to 200, then from 200, to 193.,(lost the 7 lbs., in only eight days)... luckily, since I've switched doctors, so far, my weight has stayed at 193 since the 11th, we'll see what I'm at on the 22nd (unless they find that I do have pre eclampsia too and wanna see me sooner).... Ugggh...
Did she go on her own? Did she have a planned c-sect? Was she induced?
Is your dr concerned?

I hope your delivery goes smooth.
