I know this question is similar to many that I have seen before. I have a 3 year old son and I have had 2 miscarriages this year (one in Feb and one in July). I am just curious....for anyone who have had 2 miscarriages in a row without any explained reason....how long did you wait to try again. My Dr. said wait 2 cycles just as I did before. I wanted to see what some of you all thought based on your own experiences. Thanks for your time.
well ive only had 1 miscarriage. but the things about the two cycles. ive heard that before. but i only had one period from having a d&c and getting pregnant again. so i know its possible but..someone told me theres less of a risk of loosing a baby again if you wait for a couple cycles in between
I had 2 m/c last year, one in May and the other one in Sept. My husband and I consciously waited before trying again but the DR. reccommended 2 cycles as well.. I happy to say that I am almost 29 wks pregnant now. I am also 39 and waiting alittle while actaully helped with relaxing.
Thanks for both for your reply. It is nice to hear from those who share same experiences. To Flikwerks: congrats and best of luck as you wait for your new arrival.

I have had 5 miscarriages. It went like this (to put it simplySimply sleep and without all the details that would take me forever to give you!) miscarriage (2004), healthy baby (2005), miscarriage (2006), miscarriage (2006), miscarriage (2006), miscarriage (2007), 13 weeks pregnant as of right now. Whew, it is hard...i finally decided to let my body and emotions heal before trying again with this last miscarriage. I gave up and became pregnant in May after miscarrying in January. So far, this baby is looking pretty good. I had all my babies tested and nothing was wrong with any of them except the very first one. (the first one was not actually a miscarriage, but a termination as he was incompatible with life...no kidneys, bladder, or liver). Even then, there was nothing chromosomally wrong with any of my babies. Just spontaneous miscarriages. I wish you luck, i know what you are going through, just make sure you are ready to accept another miscarriage should it happen. To answer your question, my doc told me to wait at least one normal cycle before ttc again. We always waited that cycle, but the babies were not ever making it past 7-8 weeks. I think your body needs to heal fully and recover before trying again, that way your body will be able to handle a pregnancy. (obviously I have learned to hard way) Good luck to you!
I personally have had 2 miscarriages in a row. Last June, we found out I was pregnant, but I miscarried at 6 wks. I got pregnant immediately afterwards with no period in between, and miscarried again at 12 wks, and I had to have a D&C for that one. We ended up "waiting" one cycle after that, but it ended up taking us 4 cycles to get pregnant again. So, I am currently pregnant at 30 wks. We got some heat from my family who told us just to wait a year or so, but after going to 12 weeks... its just so hard to do that. Anyway, good luck!
I have a 2 1/2 year old son, which was a perfect pregnancy and delivery and he is healthy! We experienced our first miscarriage in May and then after waiting one cycle had another miscarriage in July. We just visited a fertility dr a week ago who said this isn't uncommon. My progesterone was checked with the second miscarriage and was 13 which is on the low side of "normal." The fert dr thinks my progesterone just wasn't high enough to support a pregnancy. He says out of 100 people he sees that have had a successful pregnancy and then go on to have miscarriages, about 70 of them have progesterone issues. We will be doing some blood tests once I start a new cycle and, if needed, going on progesterone supplements. He also had me start taking 81mg of aspirin once a day. This is just the starting point and according to the dr the most common treatment for this issue. If this doesn't prove to help then we'll do more invasive testing. I really hope it works for us and I wish you all the best too! I know it's so hard to not have everything go as wonderful as it did the first time!
I have a 10.5 year old with no problems conceiving her and no problems with pregnacy. Took bc for 9 years and stopped in oct got pregnant with nov cycle and mc in jan at 9 weeks had d&c,it took until may cycle to get pregnant again even with trying after m/c,had d&c july 20 and doc said wait 2 cycles also. So I will wait at least one since it took 4 cycles last time to conceive.
Good luck.
