Anyone had a LEEP to find out weeks later they...............?

Anyone had a LEEP to find out weeks later they...............?

They conceived just a few days prior to the procedure?  I'm very worried that my dh and I had an 'ooops' before this procedure on Wednesday...The drs were questioning me left and right about protection and how many times we had sex....like they didn't want to do it if I conceived...

Just wondering if anyone had a LEEP before they knew they were pregnant or became pregnant shortly after?

I also found out I have a blood clotting disorder that may have caused my previous m/c so I'm concerned if we did conceive that my little one has two battles to fight

Thanks

Can they put it off for a week or so and check your blood? Or would it be too soon to tell via bloodwork?

I had the LEEP done Wednesday but my drs think it's possible I could have conceived a few days prior based on my LMP.

I don't know...I'm worried but then again, I need to trust my good LORD to protect my baby.  I did start taking aspirin right away to help with the blood flow problem and progesterone (just in case)....

Praying - please pray with me....Losing another peanut is just unthinkable to me right now....

I had the freezing procedure done in January of 01 and found out I was preggers in April.  We were not supose to have sex for 6 weeks I think so I must have gotten pregnant right after that.  I had a pap a week before my BFP and it came back abnormal agian and they told me as soon as I had the baby I would need to have the leep done because it was back but when I had her and was tested again it was gone.  Dr. said changes in your hormones can make it go away.

I had a colposcopy (sp?)due to mild cervical dysplasia right before I found out I was pg with my now 7 year old ds. They also made a big deal about asking if I was pg because they had to take biopsy's of the abnormal cells and they used the leep procedure. If you have a healthy pregnancy you should be okay. Only time will tell but call your doctor if you're worried. They can do an ultrasound to check to make sure everything's okay. My doctor told me everything would be okay and it was. Good luck!

Did you have the LEEP done when you were pregnant?

I think my dh and I conceived a few days prior to the LEEP - just wondering if it really matters or if the drs are just cautious

Yes, I was around 4 weeks pregnant but didn't know it. I found out I was pg about 7-10 days after the leep procedure. Of course I was scared for my baby but the doctor told me I didn't have anything to worry about. They sent me downtown for an ultra sound and my son was just fine. I wouldn't worry too much about it. The doctors might be worried about you getting pregnant if you have moderate or severe dysplasia because they can't treat the dysplasia while you're pregnant (at least that's what they told me almost 8 years ago. Things may have changed at this point). Have you gotten a BFP yet or are you just thinking it might be possible?

I'm pretty sure I am but 'no' haven't done the test because I am only 8 days past 'o'.

I've always known around then for all 4 of my pregnancies....I'm very small in the breast and they fill with that early milk quickly when the hormones start changing.

My dh and I have no problems conceiving....pregnant all 4 times we tried but only our first was successful term baby

I'm scared to test because I kind of don't want to know.  I'm afraid to know and be happy and then lose him/her but if I don't know then I can have my drs intervention to help this little one alone.

Did you have your baby or are your pregnant now?  I remember someone posting on this about a month ago?  Was that you?

THANK YOU - YOU HAVE GIVEN ME SOME HOPE.

how long was it between the leep and your pregnancy?

my biggest fear is that i could have been pregnant when i had the leep done and just not have known yet.

mine was also a very very shallow LEEP as I only had mild dysplasia.

i was pregnant when i got it done, that is why i had so many complications.  Because of the LEEP while pregnant my cervix was very weak, which cause i lot of spotting throughout the pregnancy and they said i would be lucky to carry her past seven months, but i only went three weeks early (which is still considered full term)

just a quick note about the blood disorder part. i have factor 5 lyden (sp?) and that causes miscarriages and blood clots.  i was lucky enough to know ahead of time and only have one gene (less rare and serious).  Anyway, my doc put me on a baby aspirin a day to prevent miscarriage during this pg (I am 8 weeks) and supposably that is all i need to alleviate that problem (of coure, i have others! :) ).  Anyway, you may wanna ask your doc about it.

I had a pre-op pregnancy test taken at the hospital the day before I had the leep done. It came back negative so they did the LEEP procedure. I went to my 4 week check-up and everything seemed fine. No more signs of severe dysplasia. My husband and I also waited four weeks until we had intercourse.

ONE week later, I woke up with severe cramps. i  thought it was my appendiz or something. I went to Walgreens and purchased advil and thought maybe I shouidil iget a pregnancy test because I know that's the first thing they'll ask me when I get to the hospital. I took the pregnancy test , then started to open the advil. THEN I saw that it said pregnant and I was in shock. It'd been a week since we had sex and this test already picked up the pregnancy. I decided to go to the Prompt Care at the hospital. I got a few tests done, blood drawn and a urine test and also an ultrasound for my appendix. The radiologist told me she'd have to do a vaginal ultrasound to see if she could see a baby or my uterus. She checked out the appendix first and while she was doing it-ran it across my uterus and said "OH MY GOSH! YEAH-YOU'RE PREGANT!" The baby is measuring 9 wks. 5 days along. They still aren't sure while I was having the cramping, but everything witg the baby looks fine and I am going in on Friday to meet with my obgyn. (She was out with a broken wrist while I hada the abnormal cells, LEEP, etc....) I just need to fill her in on what's  been going on since she's been away.

Crazy story, but everything seems to be fine. Keep us in your prayers!

LEEP uses a thin wire loop electrode which is attached to an electrosurgical generator. The generator transmits a painless electrical current that quickly cuts away the affected cervical tissue in the immediate area of the loop wire. This causes the abnormal cells to rapidly heat and burst, and separates the tissue as the loop wire moves through the cervix.

This technique allows your physician to send the excised tissue to the lab for further evaluation which insures that the lesion was completely removed, as well as allowing for a more accurate assessment of the abnormal area.

You may want to ask your doctor if it's OK to take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen before your procedure to help minimize any pain. Never take any drug before any medical procedure without explicitly asking your doctor about it. Always follow your doctors instructions for preparation for the LEEP.

Didn't they do pregnacy test before your procedure? And did you had your regular period prior to the LEEP? Reason why im asking is they did pregnacy test twice before my procedure and I had my period before that as well. After a week of my procedure I noticed that my pelvic area is bloated or something and today i woke up with a morniing sickness.. I had conceived 3x before and I had my period and its actually hard to detect if im pregnant thru urine.. I'm worrie.. I will call my GYN first thing in the morning
