Anyone who has taken or is taking progesterone during pregnancy PLEASE HELP!!

Hello
I am sorry for posting twice in one day, but I am very scared!!! I am again having some salmon colored discharge.  I posted this very question last week and got a response that this can be normal.  Well, according to my dr salmon colored discharge is blood of some kind.  I had a u\s on friday (due to a discussion re: the salmon colored discharge), when I was exactly 7 weeks and the baby measured 6w 6d, which no one was concerned with and had a heart rate of anywhere from 120 to 133 bpm and the dr said all looked great! My dr felt that the salmon colored discharge could be from irritation from the applicator, but felt more strongly that it was blood.  We could not find anything on the u/s and I had some again today and of course it freaked me out!! I also had some very small dots of red blood, but I really think that was from wiping too much. Has anybody ever done that before? Everytime I pushed a little more on one side of the vaginal opening that was tender I got a little blood (hopefully thats all it is) anyway, I have searched the internet for the salmon colored discharge thing and have found more people posting questions about it in forums like this than any other information on it so in that sense it appears to be normal that a lot of people see it the thing is they all have different reasons why it happened.  Most commonly is irritation of some sort.  One said that it was due to irritation and swelling of the blood vessels of the cervix.  One of the dr's in my ob's office says there is no way the progesterone applicator or anything about the progesterone could cause any kind of irritation. (I will believe him when he has a vagina and has to stick a plastic applicator up it once a day) I'm just sooo confused.  I trust my dr, but I can't rule out what other people on these sites have said from experience.  PLEASE HELP!!!

when  i took progesterone i didnt use an applicater mine came in a pill form and i inserted it with my finger. but i had no irritation. if it is very light and you saw a hb and the baby was fine then i think that everything is fine some times the cervix can get irritated very easily. try to relax and dont think about it ( i know easier said then done) but we are here for you if you need some one to talk to.

I used progesterone, but inserted with finger.  But a few times, I must have inserted to high or to hard, because I did have spotting.  My nurse told me it was most likely because of the cervix's sensitivity.  Once I adjusted the way I inserted, I didn't have any more spotting.

When I took my progesterone my Dr warned me if I saw orange colored discharge that it was normal.  Not all of that gets soaked up.  I didnt have an applicator when I put mine in.  I just used my finger and pushed it as far as I could.  I only had one episode where I leaked some.  I would say that may be what you are having.  Maybe try and not use the applicator and see if that helps.  Good luck!

I had the same thing off and on the whole time I used progesterone. I used the suppositories with no applicator. I freaked out every time. My doctor did an ultrasound and reassured me everytime. He said his wife experienced the same thing and he believes that the progesterone can irritate the cervix and cause some bleeding. I know it is hard to relax, but I'm sure everything is fine. I am now 27 weeks and haven't had any spotting since I stopped the progesterone at 13 weeks. I was having it at least once a week.  I also had horrible discharge the whole time I was on it.  I was sure that the amount I had was too much, but it all turned out ok.
