Anyone's hubby had a semen analysis?

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and how it affected your dh, you and your relationship?  Any insight or comments are welcome.

HI. My husband just had one last week. It was very easy. The sample goes into the plastic cup, and he drove it down to the hospital lab. The results came back about 10 days later, and listed a breakdown of the speed (motility), concentration, and general makeup of the sperm itself. I think he was actually glad to be able to take on even a tiny bit of the burden of this whole process.
Hope that helps.

Hi there -
My husband has had two analyses completed. While it was a tad embarrassing for him (he's very shy) he was happy to be able to help in our process.
His results came back very well both times. I wish you botht he best of luck.

Thanks to both of you.  This is actually the second time trying.  THe first time the dr suggested it, hubby was not really wanting to do it although he said he would.  This time he was much more into (if you can get into it) following through. Thanks again.

One thing that really helped was being able to do it at home and bring in the sample, so that could be the best option if your DH has that choice. I dont think mine was too thrilled at the thought of doing it at the hospital--I think he's seen too many movies! It's pretty funny when you get the breakdown and it describes the condition of the sperm--he had 2 with 2 heads! How bizarre?? I think that freaked him out, but I thought it was funny. Good thing those are the slow swimmers!

Thanks again.  We did it last Thursday morning, so I am expecting the dr to call today or tomorrow.  Guess we will see soon what our next step is.
