Appt. for heart beat tommorrow.

Appt. for heart beat tommorrow.

O.k tommorrow I go to see my beans little heart beat.My concern is that I'm only 6 1/2 wks. Will it show through vaginal u/s? I'm scared NOT to see anything. My ? is how far along can you see the heart beat & will I see anything tommorrow? I saw the sac 2 wks ago & my # were good.I guess its hard bc I dont get blood drawn every 48 hrs.So I dont know my progress.I also heard if you see the heart beat your chances of mc is way lower? My last preg. was ectopic so just to see the sac in uterus is good news.

Who else is due in August? My DD is AUG.17..Thanks Adriana

I know how you feel. I have been through the eptopic pregnancy too. With this one I went in for my first ultrasound at 5 weeks and 5 days and didnt see anything but a sac. My second Ultrasound was 7 weeks and 6 days and I saw and heard a heartbeat. The Dr. told me the first ultrasound that I had if I would have been just a few days later I would have seen everything.

I do believe I have heard that when you see and hear a heartbeat the chances of MC go down greatly. I am currently 11weeks and still doing good, just really sickly.  I am due July 18th.

My first appointment was at 8 wks and I saw the hb and heart it through the vaginal u/s. It was 174 bpm. Not sure how soon you can hear it, but I think you can at least see it beating at 6 wks. I'm due July 22. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes!!!!!  :)

Hi! I know we have talked before. They won't do an US for me until my appt on 1/26! I'm due 8/21 and like you had MC before this one, although not ectopic. It drives me nuts not to know and to have to wait. You will have to let me know how yours comes out. I see you on the "I am pregnant" website too ;) Good luck and let us know!!

my due date is about the same as yours adriana- i'm going tomorrow for u/s also to hopefully see the heart beat and set a definite date. i went last week and saw the sac and fetal pole. my doc has you come back every week until you see heart beat. i'm a little nervous too, cause last week i was sure i was 6 1/2 weeks (i know when i ovulated), but my doc said the fetal pole measured only about 5 1/2. i've read this is common though. my #s have been great so far, and i definitely still have pregnancy symptoms, so hopefully everything else is progressing as it should.

on a positive note- we just got my husband's blood results back and he is NOT a carrier for cystic fibrosis (i am and i was very worried!) big sigh of relief.

I had two transvaginal ultrasounds--one at 6 weeks, 2 days and one at 8 weeks exactly.  We saw nothing at all on either of them--just the gestational sac.  We did not see a yolk sac, fetal pole, or heartbeat.  And at 9 weeks 5 days, there was a baby with a heartbeat at the correct gestational age.

So, please don't panic if you don't see anything tomorrow.  I know that is easier said than done, but I have read about other people who have have had similar experiences--of not seeing a heartbeat early on.

Good luck to you, Nanis, you are in my prayers!  I heard heart beat late, over 7 weeks.  You may be able to hear heartbeat now, but if not, try not to worry.  You would still be in a good window if you heard it next week or even a little later.  I heard 6 weeks 5 days is the earliest.  Let us know how it goes!

I am also due Aug 17th.  I had a u/s at 5 w 5 d and only saw the sac, but go back Jan 10th for another u/s.  I am nervous, but elected not to go back every week and stress even more.  Please let me know how your appointment goes.  I can't wait until I hear the heart beat.  It would really calm my nerves.  Good Luck!!!

I went for my first u/s yesterday.  Because my cycle is so irregular, based on my last period my doctor thought i was further along than I am.  Basically they were hoping to have a hearbeat but all we could see was the sac. I have been stressing out about this since yesterday even though my doctor told me it is normal.  I feel a lot better after reading all your comments.  I go back in 3 weeks...

My daughter went today to the doctor and thought she would hear a heartbeat. They thought she was 12 weeks but after the ultrasound found her to be closer to 8 weeks. She thought that seemed closer becasue she also was very irregular. They didn't detect a heartbeat in the ultrasound either...at least i don't think they did...i didn't want to act too worried and ask too many questions becasue i didn't want to alarm her but i am really worried. Do you think the baby is ok? The doctor also took some blood and will have the results in a day or 2. This is her first pregnany and the first baby in our family in 21 years!!! So i am not up on all this new prenancy technology!!!
