Are prenatal pills suppose to make you sick??

Hi ladies, I have a question my doctor gave me like 3 different types of prenatal pills, and wanted me to try them to see which ones I like. Ok I have taken the first set of pills which were the Citracal Pills, they did not make me sick at all, then I went on to the second set of pill which are PreCare Conceive pills, these are the ones that are making me very nauseous. Are prenatal pills suppose to make you sick?  

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I took my in the morning and they made me sick through out the day.  So a friend suggested on taking them at night with my supper.  I tried that and that help me a lot.  Hope you feel better.

I always make sure I eat something before I take mine or they will make me sick.  Usually if I have eaten they don't bother me.

They make you sick, because there is Iron in them.  I too take mine after dinner.  If I wait too long after dinner to take them, I'll feel sick.  If I quickly chomp a few saltines, it will subside quickly.  

My first pregnancy, I ended up having to chew 2 Flinstone vitamins a day.
All vitamins made me vomit, whenever I took them.

I tried the taking them at night trick and since I have insomnia that just meant I was sick at night and it made it even harder to sleep. I've been taking them every other day, and chewing 2 flintstones on my off days. It's not ideal, but I couldn't stand being so sick all the time. I think I eat pretty healthy though, and my OB is ok with it...

With my first pregnancy my Dr. sent me home with tons of samples, and a lot of them made me sick. I switched to one with a little lower amount or iron and that helped me out a lot. I actually ended up foregoing prescription prenatals altogether and went with an over-the-counter one, which had lower iron.

I too get sick from my prenatal vitamins. My doctor also told me to chew 2 flinstone vitamins a day and its working well!

I always took mine right before I got in bed at night to avoid getting nauseous from them.

Mine used to but now I take them right before I go to bed. It has really helped.

Question - what exactly do prenatal pills contain? I'm on folic acid and iron - but I'd be interested to know what else i should be taking
