Are they usually really accurate?

by BabyAva0525, Mar 29, 2009 07:08PM
Ok I have been stressing out about this for a while. I found out that I was pregnant on Sep. 15 2008 and when I finally got to see the doctor she did and early ob scan on me because I didn't know the first day of my lmp. Im almost positive the first day was august 18th or 19th. The ultrasound tech told me that I was measuring exactly 14 weeks (this was on Nov 24 2008) The reason that I am stressing is because there are a few possibilites for the father. I slept with one man on August 16th, the second man on August 24, and the last one was at the very end of august. At the last doctor office I asked what day I got pregnant she told me most likely Sep 2.  Are the ultrasounds pretty accurate early in pregnancy? And do you she is right about the date of conception  They gave me a due date o 5/25/09. Do you think it is guy number 3? I have an overwhelming feeling that it is #3.

Well I am obviously going to get a dna test, I was just curious about the dates that the doctors give you. I want to know who to start with on the dna testing end. I just wanted someone else's opinion

Ultrasounds can be off by up to a week, the earlier you get them the better since all babies grow at different rates. Having an ultrasound at 6 or 7 weeks would have given you a better idea but even then, they can be off.

Unfortunately, since your last two dates are a week apart at most and the ultrasound can be a week off, you're really not going to know until the DNA test.  Good luck.
