Ashermans syndrome early pregnancy help

Hi I'm new to this site but think it's so useful I'm wondering if anybody has any info for me, I had my first child 13 years ago and had a retained placenta which was manually removed in surgery I had my second child and second retained placenta 2 years ago again I had manual removal in theatre which took over 2 hours as the surgeon said it was attached to old scar tissue, I've just found out I'm 6 weeks pregnant but because of early bleeding got sent to the epu in my local hospital they think this pregnancy is not viable because of scans and hormone levels not doubling, on the scans they said my uterus was very cloudy which they think is blood and they can see lots of tissue, after researching now for weeks I found ashermans syndrome which I'm wondering if I could have as I've never heard about it before and it's never been mentioned to me either, I'm die back at hospital Monday for more scans and bloods but they are trying to push me into a d and c which I have so far refused, can the scar tissue be mistaken by your body for pregnancy as although the doctors are saying I'm having a non viable my hormone levels are slowly rising, sorry for the long post but I have tons of questions floating round x

If you do have Asherman's, it is possible that the scarring is constricting the growth of the embryo, similar to the way the small size of a Fallopian tube constricts the embryo in an ectopic pregnancy.  That might explain hCG numbers that don't rise appropriately.  How slowly are they rising?

Very slow when I first had them done they was 1100 at 4 weeks, 2 days later 1300 then a week later 1580, progesterone level was 25 so doctors say it's not good x

Your numbers don't look good even if it is due to growth restriction. Having had two previous deliveries with retained products of conception puts you at a higher risk of Ashermann's. Did you have irregular periods, or very light periods? Pelvic pain during periods more than normal? all signs of scar tissue...

I'd see if they will let you hold off on the D&C if there is no sign of infection. If you need your uterus cleared out, ask for a procedure like a hysterography or something that allows them to visualize your uterus they do D&C's by blind feel, and it's ok if you get someone who really knows their stuff (I got lucky with my postpartum d&c-had great ob). If you do have Ashermann's it will make it tough to get --and/or stay pregnant. There is a great website called dandcnow I think. You can do a search for info on it. It tends to be a little bit extreme, but still useful info.

Last thing-Your body won't think the scar tissue is a baby either. There are hormones being produced that scar tissue can't create.

Good luck on your scan Mon.

Thanks for your advice, I have found it difficult to get pregnant this time as it's taken 2 years, I'm defo mentioning it Monday and want them to look in to ashermans for me, as my local hospital has closed we have to go to one in next town and the new one dosnt have my maternity records although I have told them to request them, my periods are quite normal really but can be painful, I know hormone levels don't look good just sort of holding out for a miracle I suppose, thanks for your input x

Hi Hun everything was same hcg had dropped by 100, scan still cloudy so could see sack but not the inside ov it well enough, got to go back this Monday for more bloods, I'm fine no bleeding or pain but not looks good for baby, they didn't offer me the d and c this time though although maybe they are thinking with hormones dropping it will happen naturally but nothing as yet, it's so frustrating might sound a bit funny but one way or another just want it over and done with x thanks for asking sorry for life story lol x

How frustrating this waiting must be for you...I'm sorry things aren't looking well for the baby. And no need to apologize for answering my question. I asked :) Take care.
