My question is this... are there any other mom's out there who took asthma medications througout their pregnancies? Even though I will continue to take my medications as advised, I can't help but wonder how it will effect my unborn baby.
Hi. I haven't had my baby yet so I'm afraid that I cant be of must use to you. But I do use my albutorol inhaler as needed. But that's all I'm on. I had severe asthma as a kid but, as an adult, it's moderate. I've asked this question several times and several times have been told that it is perfectly fine to use it. They say the need out weights the risk. I'm not sure about the other medication you take but, twiceTwice-a-day while I had a cold, had to use my nebulize and I was also told that it was ok. If I needed it more than twice a week, she would prescribe something for me. But I didnt.

i'm 25 wks, was taking qvar40 once a day up til about 20 weeks, then my asthma got a lot worse... switched to qvar80/4x a day to manage it. most of these drugs arent absorbed into the placenta so they're considered safe.
my son is 3mths old and i took pulmicort and albuterol and zyrtec the whole entire pregnancy. It is more important for you to breath so the baby gets air. My son is fine and my asthma wasnt too bad during pregnancy, thank god. good luck.
Good Luck !
