At what age....

At what age....

.....do kids stop napping during the day and drinking milk twice a day?  DD is only 21 months old and she's already not too thrilled about her nap.  She was never too fond of sleeping and is still a terrible sleeper but I think she's too young not to sleep during the day.  Also, when did your little ones stopped drinking milk twice a day (morning and night)?  DD drinks 16 oz of milk and has other dairy products throughout the day (yogurt, cheese, etc).  TIA.

All kids are different.....my son NEVER napped after the age of 2. He had what I called "quiet time" and had to stay in his room for 1 1/2 hrs or so. He was allowed to play with certain toys and read/look at his books (which he LOVED!) He actually looked forward to his 'quiet time".

My daughter, on the other hand, took naps up until 1st grade. She attended an all day kindergarten and they had nap time for them.

Oh, about the milk....I usually gave my kids milk with every meal. (Goat milk, YUCK), they were allergic to cow milk.

Oh gosh, I would die without nap time.  Lily takes one in the am and one in the afternoon. Even if it's just an hour or she talks the whole time I still put her in.  With the milk, I offer it breakfast, lunch and dinner but she never drinks a whole glass at each sitting.  How's your little man???

My daughter stopped napping by 1.   My son was almost 2.   Both kids drank milk throughout the day until they started school.

My dd is almost 3. She is balking naps, but I can get her to go if she is particularly miserable or got up really early in the morning. HEr routines changed a little once her baby sis was born and we took her off the bottle and out of her crib. Most days I dont bother to fight with her, so I figure if one kid takes a nap, I'll be doing good(obviously, it is the baby that typically naps). I think each child is different. I miss my child's nap. It meant a break for me, but I don't really get a break anymore. But what are you gonna do? Goes with motherhood :)

My dd will not drink milk out of a cup since we took her off the bottle. She has always been funny like that. We make sure she has other dairy products like cheese, yogurt, etc. I think they are suppose to still have 2 cups or more a day of milk until the age of 2, If I remember my Ped's advice correctly...

Gavin still take an afternoon nap.  Thank god.  Will she give in eventually?  Is there a reason why you don't want her to have milk?  Gavin still drinks 20-24oz a day plus whatever dairy he wants.

DD still naps from 12-2 or 3 but lately she's been fighting to go to sleep.  No, I do not think she doesn't need her nap, she absolutely does.  I just wanted to know what age is "normal" for them to stop napping.  She still drinks milk twice a day and eat other dairy products.  She's a good eater (knock on wood).  She doesn't eat a lot in one sitting but does like to snack on veggies, fruits or cheese thoughout the day (as long as it's not cookies, I don't care).  I can't give her milk with her meals (dinner) since we don't mix meat and dairy.  At night she has her milk a couple of hours after dinner (sometimes an hour, depending if she wants to go to bed earlier that day).

Quinn is 18 months and is down to 1 nap a day. Which is her late morning one. However it lasts for 2 hours...  Thank Goodness.
