BBT Temp question

Good morning.  I have just started tracking my bbt this week. Well, the whole week it has been 97.8 and this morning when I checked it, it was 96.8.  What does this mean?  Baby dust to all!!

What part of your cycle on you in? One temp usually doesn't mean anything, you have to look at temps at a whole. Since you're just starting, you nothing to compare it to. Good Luck!

It could be from a lot of things.....Was it cold in your room this morning, did you sleep with your mouth open, did you take your temp at a different time?

Get the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" Toni Weschler. It will explain EVERYTHING! Its too early to see andy patterns for you but a big drop like that is indicative of ovulation. Do you know what day of your cycle you are on? My dip is usally at day 11 and 12. You can also look at www.fertilityfriend.com to help with charting.

Depending on where you are in your cycle, it could mean you're ovulating, you've had implantation, or you could be about to start your period.  I don't remember where you said youo were in your other post, but if you know you haven't ovulated yet, then you could be now.  If you know you have ovulated already (checking cervical mucus or OPKs and such), but it's too early for AF, then you could have an implantation dip.  I had this the month I got pregnant and I was really disappointed because I thought it was my period coming early or something, but nope.  If you due any day for AF and you're waiting for it, could be right around the corner.  From what I've read, your temp will start to drop either the day before or the day of your period starting.  So, where are you in your cycle?  Also, there are other factors that it could be, like being too cold and all, but if everything was normal, then that's what these temps could mean.

It was cold in my house this morning!  HA!!  I guess that's what did it. Thanks for the advice.

I am CD11.  I started using OPK's yesterday but it was not positive. But the last time I conceived it was on CD 17 so who knows..  I guess things are different after a m/c and D&C huh.. I have been tracking my CM too...

Though you didn't have a + opk, I would bd anyway.  I had a slight temp drop with no +opk this past cycle and I was ovulating.  Luckily, dh and I were bding every other day regardless of the no +opk and I just got bfp last week!  I thought I had missed my fertile window, but obviously hit it right on the head.  Best of luck and tons of baby dust!

I agree.  I was used the OPKs to see if I was ovulating the month I got pregnant, but I never got a positive OPK but my temp did dip that month.  So I would BD just in case.  Good luck!

Hey I am charting my BBT and also using OPK(clear blue fertility monitor). Yesterday (cd 12), my temp was 97.28. My OPK showed negative. Today (cd 13) my temp rised to 97.87.Only today my OPK shows positive i.e, the fertility monitor says i am ovulating. But I wonder how the temperature increased before ovulation? If so, have I missed the ovulation day. Or since my OPK shows positive today, ovulation hasnt occured yet?. What should I rely on now - MY BBT or OPK ?
