BFP...... good eating habits?

BFP...... good eating habits?

Ok, So I am pg now and I am really interested in eating well. Those cravings are going to be difficult I know... but.. I want to do my best at eating healthy. I have been walking every day since I found out I was PG. I had a slice of cake and afterwards the sugar just made me feel sick. Soooooo note to self, no cake.!

Any ideas on a good snack? besides fruit(allergic to some fruit)

For me to eat super-healthy, I not only have to remove the gross snacks from the house (or I'll eat them) but I have to make the healthy alternatives as easy as possible or I just won't eat them no matter if they are right there.  So, for example, I get grapefruit (I hope that's not one of the fruits that you're allergic to?) in a jar, the Del Monte kind that comes in the refrigerator part of the produce section (near the pre-rinsed salad packages).  They also do peaches like that.  I can just open the fridge, open the jar, spear a couple of wedges out, and eat them.  We also always have shelled, unroasted almonds on hand (buying them in the bulk aisle isn't too pricey).  Lowfat vanilla yogurt.  A baked potato.  Green salads (from the package).  Some of those health-food-type soups that come in a box.  (In fact, a lot of the health-food versions of the stuff in the regular freezer case are really handy.  They have natural versions of burritos, little pot pies, and pizzas, done with all-veggie or tofu or whole-wheat crusts and a much more careful eye on fats and cholesterol.) Even frozen veggies, if it's a kind you like, such as corn, can be heated fast and make an OK snack.  Take it from one who drank SO MUCH Dr. Pepper (before my BFP!), sugar is addictive.  I went through something like withdrawal at first, really craving it when I got hungry. The good news is that after a couple of weeks those really awful cravings dropped away, especially because I always had something to eat that was OK for me, so never got so starved that sugar was the only thing I wanted. :)

I eat power bars with flax seed, flavored soy crisps ( I so happen to be craving salt and they are a great alternative to chips).  I am also eating yogurt to no end.  THe weirdest thing I crave....tuna fish sandwiches.  I don't use mayo though, only mustard, lemon, and chop in onion and pickles.  Oh well, at least I am not craving cardboard or mud yet:)

1 can tuna
2 boiled eggs (no yoke!)
1/4 cup fresh parsley (food processor)
1/4 cup sun flower seeds (food processor)

Do your babies kick the living daylights out of you after eating something sweet?  I am just 21 weeks, and my hubby could feel her giving me a good swift kicks after eating a lemon/lime fruit pop from  Breyers (They are delicious by the way!  Highly recommend them) I just complained the other day how she wasn't moving much and then yesterday pow! left and right.  She always does it right when I say she hasn't moved for a while:)
