I was on the medication until I was 12 weeks pregnant (I am now 20 weeks). I had an early miscarriage in October, and my doctor belived it was because my levels were low so he put me on them as soon as we found out I was pregnant this time. I had an oral dosage 200 mil. 3 x a day.

Thank you for your input. The oral dose that you are mentioning is on the aspirin or the progesterone?

hello,

presently i am taking baby asprin along with prenatals and TTC.  bc I had high blood pressure at labor with my first child and testing showed some characteristics of that blood clotting syndrome thing(sorry the mind is going).  i take one baby asprin once per day.
I have to take progesterone from ovulation to when i get my af each month while TTC and will continue both progesterone and asprin when pregnant until my dr says its ok to come off them.  the progesterone i take is a suppository.  i have heard its best b/c it gets to where it needs to go the quickest- having the best absorbtion rate.  I have luteal phase defect so I need the progesterone to prevent my af from coming too early- leading to a miscarriage.

hope this helps.

I had 2 miscarriages and my doctor gave me baby aspirin until about the 12th week.  I am now 15 weeks. This is the longest I have made it.  He didn't give me progesterone though.  I took clomid which helps your body produce higher levels of the hormone progesterone naturally.  They tested before we tried to concieve (conceive) and through the first 6 weeks and my levels were high.  In the last 2 pregnancies, I had miscarried due to low progesterone.  I hope this helps.

If I understand it correctly from my own doctor who has me on progesterone and baby aspirin, the progesterone is to help you not have a period (it keeps AF from flowing) and the baby aspirin is to reduce the chance of blood clots that are more likely to form when one is on hormones like progesterone.  It's sort of like using the aspirin in a preventive way, like stroke-prone people take a blood thinner like Coumadin.  In fact, he said slender gals are more likely to get blood clots if on bed rest than plumper gals.  The risk of the clotting is that something called deep vein thrombosis can happen from a clot slipping up the vessels to a crucial organ.  So don't worry if it seems odd to have aspirin when pregnant.  If you need the progesterone (a friend had one baby with it, two M/Cs without it) take it, and take the aspirin if your doc says to.
