Baby Aspirin

by wrknonit, Nov 19, 2006 12:00AM
Hello everyone.  Well I have had one period since my miscarriage.  Yeah.  Finally....the waiting game is so annoying.  Anyway, I actually have been perscribed progosterone by my doc just in case.  And I have also been recommended to take baby aspirin just in case.  I have taken a few tests and everything is coming back normal...I guess these two things are just the standard quick fix-might help but also might not be necessary meds.  I have the prog. sitting in my fridge right now.  My question is for those that do take both of these...do you take it a few days post ovulation or do you wait for positive prego test.  I actually have normal periods...and no real sign of a prog. deficiancy but I just wanted to do everything that I could physically to give this baby a good start.  I am not prego yet...but I hope it happens soon in the months to come.  Also, for those of you that believe in God...I would appreciate any prayers for a healthy pregnancy this next round.  Thanks for the help.

I take prometrium after ovulation until AF shows.  If AF doesn't show then I am suppose to continue on ovulation during preg. for 3 months.  I have seen on post where several people take aspirin.  I curious the reason for this.  My doc has never mentioned this to me.  Maybe you can answer that for me.  Yes, I pray Exodus 23:26 over you that there will be no infertility or miscarriages & long blessed lives!

Aspirin and any other NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, Aleve etc. are not good for anyone with asthma--can make it much worse. Just a head's up.

i was on the projestrone supp.(sp?) I wasnt put on them untill the day i found out i was pg. i was 4w4d. didnt even know. just thought i was a few days late for af. Went in for yearly pap. told them i wasnt really late just by 4 days, and i wasnt concerened because i have went up to 6 days late. The nurse told me to pee in a cup just in case. and after peeing, being put into a room to get my pap over and done with. she popped her head in and told me it was a positive preg. test.  SO the dr put me on proj. supp. (prometrem i believe is what i was actully on) and my prenantel vit. and 1 81mg. baby asprin a day. the supp. was to help the baby "stick" and the vitiman was just what ya take, and the baby asprin was because i have a weird blood clotting thing going on so to thin out my blood. *the blood clotting disorder was the reason i was haveing so many mc(3 in 1&1/2 years.)
Good luck.

I guess I should proofread my post better.  Let's try this again....I take prometrium if I test positive for pregnancy for aproxx. 3 months.  Not I take ovulation for 3 months...duh!  You ever have those moments?? lol!  Thanks for the info on aspirin.

Mattsturle!!!

Have you just been taking the baby aspirin????  I don't know if I have a blood clotting disorder, but I've been reading about it and just wondering.

Are you just doing baby aspirin and progesterone?  Is that enough???  I've had two miscarriages and am now trying again and I am taking baby aspirin.  The doctor said we don't need to test for blood clotting disorders yet....but, I just wish I knew.

Are you just on baby aspirin?  No shots or anything?

I'm so glad to hear about others who are taking baby aspirin.  Wkr---I wish MY doctor had given me progesterone "just in case" she said we will test my progesterone as soon as I get a positive test.....but I'm just scared.  I wish I could be taking it from when I ovulate on.

You should start taking both as soon as you think you've ovulated. I have a 3 year old, and am now 31 weeks pregnant with baby #2 thanks to progesterone and asprin. I had 7 m/c before baby #1.

Hey, I have had six miscarriages and am 4w5d pregnant. Please pray for me. The progesterone supp. have been the my hope. With this pregnancy, I started taking them before pregnancy. You much stop taking it on day 30-31 of your cycle or it with stop your ovulation. Make sure that you monitor it with an ovulation kit. Please take a baby aspirin or low dose adult aspirin-81mg, there the same. It won't hurt anything. It helps blood clots and blood flow to the baby. I found out today from lab work that I have that disorder. What a relief to have finally found out after 6 heart breaking unexplainable miscarriages. I hope this helps.
