My baby is 2 months and she is spittingBaby spitting up Spitting up up a lot!!!!
Even after 1 hour she is spittingBaby spitting up Spitting up up this white almost like cottage cheese with water stuff. I went to the Doctor and he said she has GER and since she is gaining weight he is not conserned as well as does not recommend switching her formula. She is on Enfamil A+. I have tried the Enfamil for frequent spittingBaby spitting up Spitting up up, but she was not happy on it so I have switched back to Enfamil A+. Not sure what to do as I will hold her up after each feeding for 1/2hour or so, will put on her diper loose so there is no pressurePressure ulcer on her stomach, try not to make her over-excited so she does not spit up more. Any suggestions as to which formula I should use to try to eliminate this? which ones are good? What should I do?
Hi there,
Thank you I will try it and see. How did you switch your baby from one to the other? Did you mix 1/2 and 1/2 or straight with the new formula? any problems as far as digestion?
Our dd was a spitter...we eventually put her on Enfamil Soy, which helped some. We just switched-no mixing. Good luck-I understand what you're going through and how you worry!
Sometimes they spit up because they have a burp/bubble. At this age, it is really hard to get them to burp really well and they have a weak flap that covers the esophagusBarrett’s esophagus Esophageal cancer Esophageal perforation Esophagitis Esophagus Esophagus and stomach anatomy that eventually grows and straightens up. It may not be the formula, the curdled milkBreast milk Breast milk jaundice Lactose intolerance Nipple discharge - abnormal is where the protein is actually being broken down. You may also want to try sitting her up in her carseat or in a bouncy chair for 1 hour after feeding, this helps with reflux. Then their is the formula with rice added to it to be thicker and prevent a lot of spit-up Similac or enfamil AR??? Anyhow, if she's gaining weight and keeping up with check ups, then she'll be ok and probably outgrow it. Some babies are just spitters. Best wishes and congrats on the baby! tmv
Hi there,
Thank you for your insightful email. I will try some of the things that you have suggested. One more question for you, do you think I should swich to Nestle Good Start or just hang in there? before you answer consider this as I am holding her upright for 1/2 hour or more after her feedings. I also stop in between to burp her and let her continue with her feeding. I'm making sure that the nipple in her bottle has enough a hole so that she does not grasp any air and eventhough I try to do all of the above she still spitts up and there are days where its worse than before. I'm so confused as to what to do. My doctor says she is ok and that Enfamil A+ is really good.
Hi there,
Any problems thou when you have switched it straight to Good Start?
I was told to introduce it slowly by mixing parts of each at a time. I'm concerned about her getting stomach pain or not having a bowl movement at all.
Hi there,
there are days when she is crying a lot and wants to eat every 2 hours. There are days when she seems fine and is not crying as much. A night she does not spit at all but then again she only gets two feedings at night. It's confusing at she seems ok but then there are days when she is not. That's why not sure what to do.
My DD has acid reflux and that is why I was questioning the fussiness. There truly are "happy spitters", but I know my DD was miserably in pain and did require medicine. Her spit up was also like curdled milk because it had already been partially digested. I would like to recommend a fabulous forum that has provided me a lot of help, information and support regarding my DD's reflux. It's www.infantreflux.org/forum. Browse around, read other posts, post about your situation...I hope you find it helpful! Good luck!
I agree about the good start- my dd was the same way- i started on enfamil and switched her to good start around 6 weeks old- just straigh switch and she did great... she seemed to do great on the good start!
