Baby rash

Baby rash

My 6 week old son has started to break out really bad, on his ears his eye brows and in the crevices on his neck. I try to clean there but it seems to be getting worse. Has this happened to anyone else? If so what was it and how do I take care of it? He even has dadruff that doesn't seem to bad but when it is wet you can really see it. Please help me. Should I call his pediatrician?

Try googling "cradle cap" and see if you can find a photo of it.  Here is a description:

"The red, flaky pieces of scalp that looks like dandruff on your baby is called 'cradle cap.'   Initially, you'll notice the redness of your baby's scalp, and it sometimes can extend on the creases of the neck, behind the ears, armpits, face, and even in the diaper area.

"Cradle cap is not a serious problem, but still it is bothersome, especially to the parents. Almost all babies during their first months experience getting cradle cap.
Cradle cap and seborrheic dermatitis are considered non-infectious skin conditions, which (unlike other types of eczema) are hardly itchy or irritating.

"Cradle cap is thought to be related hormonal changes in the mother during pregnancy that stimulate oil glands. It usually starts to show during the first months, and can last until your baby reaches his first year.

"If your toddler exhibits redness and scaly scalp, it is still best to confirm it with your pediatrician. Redness and flakes at this point can also be allergic reactions or other medical conditions."

Recommended treatment is to gently rub the spots with olive oil and brush them off with a dry washcloth, or comb them out of the hair with a soft brush or fine comb.

my son had this really bad, it began to stink, and I would clean behind his ears and with in a half hour it would begin to stink and get all gross and white again.  I did take him to the drs, got laughed at a bit, and was told to wash it with baby soap and water and put some lotion on it...for the neck, ears, and eyebrows.  this helped soooo much!!!  the ears and neck cleared up first but the eyebrows took a bit longer.  as for the dandruff, I just washed it every other day with baby shampoo and would try to comb his hair/scalp before each bath time.  I took a month or so to totally go away.

Jeremiah had cradle cap as well. I just washed it like I normally would and would scrub a bit more where it was settling on his scalp. It eventually went away. He also had baby acne but that eventually cleared on its own as well.
