Baby stopped developing? Few weeks behind.

I want to know others' opinion. I hope it isn't too long and wordy. May contain TMI!!!

What I know for sure: LMP was June 23 2010. Unprotected sex: July 6 and 7, and again some time btw July 15-20.
I THINK I ovulated on July 9. I never track my cycles (I will start now!), and I wasn't TTC. Started menstrual-like cramps around July 18, and they continue to this day, almost a month later.  Got a faint POSITIVE on July 30, and a few days later got two bright BFP. Started spotting some brownish discharge on/off the first week in August. Sometimes normal discharge with little threads of blood, then back to solid brownish.

Met my OB/GYN on August 10. She sees some blood and is not concerned. I tell her about the cramping. According to my dates I was about 6/7 weeks. Had a vaginal u/s and  "could not find anything" but a black spot that "may turn into something" (if my dates are wrong). She's concerned that I have an ectopic pregnancy. Blood is taken to test my beta levels.

On August 12, I get more blood tested, and get another vaginal u/s. Appears it's not ectopic, and they find the ges sac and possible beginning of a yolk sac. I'm told "there's no way you're 7 weeks". The tech said she couldn't date it for me. They also find what appears to be a corpus luteum cyst on my right ovary. I am also told by my OB that the test results reveal my beta levels are fine, and my progesterone is also fine. I have no numbers. I forgot to ask.

But the next day OB tells me that the newer test results are inconclusive because my beta only rose 38% in two days. She still won't rule out ectopic. I still don't feel ectopic symptoms, other than pains in both sides. Abdomen is not sore, and use toilet with no pain.

So either I have an A) ectopic pregnancy B) it stopped developing, and I haven't miscarried yet C) I was way off on the dates and conceived at the end of July. Could the cyst be providing my 'pregnancy' with progesterone, and throwing my test results?

I am doing another blood test on August 16. Going away on vacation for the week (I am familiar with my near-by  medical facilities) and next appt is August 31.

Like I said, I wasn't TTC. Although I welcome this pregnancy, my world won't be shattered if I lose it. I just wan't to KNOW what's going on so I can prepare! Time will tell I guess. What do you think?

the same thing was going on with with me in june and july.mine turned out to be ectopic. i wish you the best of luck on this.

Did they do an ultrasound and miss an ectopic at first?? Did you have a pseudo sac?
Also, did you feel pain with your ectopic?

hi i just came across your post. i was wondering what ended up happening? Im kinda going through a similar thing and have noone to ask advice from.
