Baby's Heartbeat

Baby's Heartbeat

Hi everyone,
I am new here.  I am 10w6d.  I had a miscarriage in Nov 06, got pregnant in 12/06.  After my second appt my doctor said my progesterone was low so he put me on 200mg a day until 14 weeks.  I had an u/s on 2/1 and got to see the heartbeat, went for my follow up appt on 2/27/07 and asked if we could hear the hearbeat, the doctor said probably not and tried anyway, well we didn't hear it, he told me to go back in 2 weeks and we would hear it, 3/13/07.  Should I be worried cause I know a lot of people who heard it at 6 to 10 weeks.....Help, I'm freaking out.

When I went for my appointment @ 12 weeks, my dr couldnt find the heartbeat with the doppler so she did an ultra sound.   There it was, beating strong.  I think it's a combination of being to early and possible a crappy doppler @ the Dr's office.  The one I have at home is ten times stronger than my ob's.  Imagine that.

Don't be worried...I think most people are referring to the fact that they saw the hb at 6w-10w...not heard it.

I saw my baby's at 5.5 weeks and 8 weeks but didn't HEAR it until 12 weeks.

Wow! I never heard my DD heartbeat until about 14 weeks.  I had numerous U/Ss (for other reasons) so had seen the heart beat, but my OB was never bale to find it using the doppler.
I am sure that everything is fine.  I wouldn't worry...I am curious though, why didn't your dr give you an U/S on 2/27 if he couldn't hear the heartbeat (especially since he heard it at the prior visit)?  I know insurance companies only pay up to a certain amount of U/S per pregnancy, but still he could have eased your mind .

I am 11 weeks today, same as you. I had an u/s at 9w6d and we heard the heartbeat. The heartbeat was normal and we heard it. She had to really turn it up to be able to hear it. Your dr. didn't expect to hear it and doesn't sound too concerned. You will be fine. By the way I had an u/s on 2/6 (7w3d) and we only saw the heartbeat and couldn't hear it. Try to remain calm, I know, easier said than done!

I agree with the others-  I would bet everything is fine- I had an ultrasound at 9w3d and saw the heartbeat, but didn't hear it until 4 weeks later- 13 week along...  and I tired all the time- my friend was pg at the same time and she rented a doppler to listen to her babies heartbeat,  so I was trying every week when I'd go to see her-  I didn't hear it until 13 weeks when I tried at her house!  I wouldn't worry about anything-  I think everything will be fine!  My doc told me that seeing a heartbeat drops the chance of miscarriage a lot!!

Thank you all so much for responding.  I feel a little better now.  Just patiently waiting for 3/13/07 to get here and hopefully hear the heartbeat.  Thanks all again and I'll keep you posted.
