Baby's Weight Gain

i am currently 32 weeeks, my question is this, at 29 weeks my baby weighed 3.5 lbs, is this normal?? My Dr doesnt seemed worried but everyone else thinks my baby is going to be huge. Also how much does a baby usually gain a week?? Thanks!!

i heard they usually gain an ounce a week towards the end. don't worry about it. it will be fine. sounds to me like you are on course. are you or your DH tall? You could just have a tall one in there. my son was 22 1/2 inches and weighed 10 lbs 7.5 ounces... his dad is 6'5. He's 11 now and is already 5'3...

Like Stacie was saying, your baby may just be long. He/she may not even weigh as much as they say she does; they just estimate the weight by the length of the bones, etc. One of my friends was induced early in January because they thought the fetus was in distress, and by their estimates she was over 6 lbs, but she actually weighed just a little over 5 lbs at birth.
