Back from the RE...bit concerned (of course)

Well just got back. Dr. confirmed my numbers which were as of tuesday hcg level of 4000 and progesterone 36. He asked when I got my period, which was 11/13. He thought that I might be farther along b/c of the numbers and that maybe I miscalculated, but I told him that was when I got my period.
So he did a transvaginal u/s, he said that the embryo is in the uterus, which is a good thing, however way too early to see anything being that i'm only 4 weeks and 4 days. I have an appt. for next thursday.
Of course I'm freaking out b/c of the high hcg level and I know it's way too early to see anything but I'm just so scared. I dont' want to have to go through another m/c, it takes such a toll, especially this time of year with the holidays.
I'm praying that this baby just keeps growing and that everything will be ok.

You can have very high HCG and still only have a singleton.   But please try not to worry.  High HCG levels can mean that you have a very strong over achiever in there.  Relax.. because the extra stress is not good on the baby.

Twins...that would be nice, but I'm not sure.
It's so high for 4 weeks.
And of course I'm doing way too much research and now I'm looking at molar pregnancies! Eeks!!!

I had high numbers too at 4 weeks and I did not have an embryo in my uterus yet.  My uterus was thickened but nothing was in there - which they said was normal and they too though my date was wrong for my last period but I knew I wasn't - so then the question of twins came up - my boyfriend is a twin, both our grandmothers are twins and I m/c twins before.  But there is just one I am now 19 weeks along.  So dont panic - high numbers are good low numbers are bad.  Maybe you are having triplets.  :)Smile....

oh and I took found the molar pregnancy thing when I looked it up and my doctor told me to stop looking stuff up.  I still am not very sure what that is but you have an embryo already so dont worry.

Thank you for that, I needed it. Of course I'll still worry but at least I know that the women here understand what I'm going through.

i made a mistake, dr. didn't say it was an embryo, he just said "it's in the uterus." he was relieved about that.
