Have you seen your doctor yet??
Mine put me on VicodinVicodin Vicodin es Vicodin hp Vicodin tuss for my back also. I didn't take it because I was worried about ANY minor effect it might have on baby but I'm not in near the condition you are.
There are some pain meds the doctors say are ok for you to take while pregnant. VicodinVicodin Vicodin es Vicodin hp Vicodin tuss being one of them I guess, since my Doc prescribed it to me.
Other than that, limited activity which I am sure you are very used to by now and you might have to stay in bed a lot once you start getting bigger.
When my son rolls over onto my back, it sends me into fits.
I wish you the best and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Back pain is no picnic, especially when you are pregnant.
i sympothize with you...i am 5 mons postpartum, and at 9 days i somehow managed to tear l4-l5. i also have ddd, but apparently, everyone has to some extent. i found great relief with accupuncture. apparently yoga works well too. i found ice better than heat (heat made mine worse) it was a realllll looooonnnnggg 9 months...but worth every second. i was on tylenol #3 (coedine) for whole pregnancy, my baby is 100% healthy. i stopped taking t#3's 2 weeks before she was born (pharmacist said baby can become addicted and go through withdrawl. my doc induced me 2 weeks early b/c of the tremendous discomfort i was in. i found it let up a bit around 25 weeks...must've shifted where it was sitting??? anyways, i hope you can find some relief, back pain sucks!!! good luck
You poor thing! My husband has 3 herniated disks and degenerative disk..he's so miserable! He's tried everything in the book. The next step is surgery but since it's so invasive and 1 in 100 men become sterile after the procedure they want to do on him, we're waiting. He has done the steroid injections and they helped a little. He currently is on the morphine based patches. (feneryl or somthing with an "f") I know he took percocet for awhile and that helped him alot. I am 23 weeks pregnant and at 20 weeks I had troubles with an ovarian cyst and was prescribed percocet for pain by my OB. So maybe you could ask for that! I'm so sorry you have to deal with this in your pregnancy. I have a bad back too...but nothing compared to my husband! He's miserable on drugs...I can't imagine how he'd be without them AND being pregnant! lol Good luck!
