Bath time troubles

Bath time troubles

So my 14 month old has never had issues with me washing her hair... untill now! she absolutley freaks out the minute i touch her head with water (not even near her face), i have made it a point NOT to be "careful" when putting water on her head and always have gotten it on her face and she has never had issues. yesterday when i put her into the water she freaked out and it actually scared me, my first thought was the water was too hot... even tho i tested it  with my elbow first.. so i added more cold and this made it way cooler... so i put her back in and again screaming and clawing at me to get out of the water... i was able to distact her with her water toys and she settled and was playing.. until i got her head wet then it was game over and clawing at me to get out... i HAD to wash her hair and it was like i was torchering her and it took her a long time to calm down... she used to love bathtime and i dont know what changed?

Just a couple notes:lately she has been freaking out over washing her hair... just yesterday it was  the first time she freaked over bathtime in general, and i really dont think i have ever got soap in her eyes... she was so good with bath time she even knew to look up when i told her to, i asked her Gma (who baths her sometimes) if she ever cried at bathtime and she said "no but i dont wash her hair" (which is funny cause i didnt tell her the problem yet)

But anyways... has anyone had their child go from loving baths to absolutely freaking out the minute they touch the water... and any advice of what to do?

my little one did this, at about the same age. It took a while before we figured out that running water spooks her.
