Belly piercing and pregnancy

by Cardinal08, Sep 29, 2008 08:41PM
Im currently 15wks and 1 day and I just took my belly ring out yesterday bcuz my doc said it would eventually begin to stretch and it was already pussing since I got it, so I just wondering if anybody every left it in throughout the whole pregnancy and did it continue to puss?!

I took mine out pretty early on. The skin was stretching so thin I thought it was going to rip open. Now I have two huge stretch marks above my navel where the ring used to be, they look like bunny ears.

I left mine in for the entire pregnancy. I did have to buy a flexible pregnancy piercing though near the end, but I did manage to put my regular one back in 2 days after my son was born. You can look on eBay for the flexible pregnancy piercings if you want to keep the hole from closing.

probably depends on how long yours was pierced before the pregnancy-  I had mine pierced about 10 years before my pregnancy-  so I took mine out-  definately no puss, and was able to put it back in following the pregnancy no problem-

I've seen ladies with belly rings in  at term.  As long as there is no redness or pus coming out, you could leave it in.

Warning, though.  They'll make you take it out in L&D when you go to deliver.
