Bleeding after surgery for eptopic

Bleeding after surgery for eptopic

I had laproscopic surgery to remove an eptopic pregnancy four days ago.  The doctor caught the eptopic early enough so that the tube was opened, the pregnancy removed, and the tube resealed.  I was told that there is a good chance that the tube will heal.  I am wondering how long it is normal to bleed following this procedure?  Since the surgery I have been bleeding similar to a normal light period.

yes it is normal to bleed after the surgery...my surgery was slightly different I had a laporotomy and the ectopic and my tube was removed....I started bleeding like five/six days after the surgery.

You have to bleed following the surgery because although they removed the ectopic, your uterus still had that thick lining and in some cases the placenta and other pregnancy tissue etc, so your body has to get rid of all of that......sort of like a miscarriage except your baby was already removed.

IN about 4 to six weeks.. sometimes later than that af will come, it sometimes all depends on when your HCG returns to zero.  For some people it happens earlier and while HCG is present in their blood but I think that those cases are rare.

Hope this helps

Did you experience a lot of swelling in your belly after the operation?  My belly looks huge.  My surgeon said that it was due to the CO2 that they pump in when they do the operation.  How long does this last?

Thanks, that information is comforting.  I guess I'm kind of paranoid now after all the bleeding that has happened over the last couple of weeks.

I didn't start bleeding for a few days for my levels to go down about 5 days after. I to had my tube removed and had no bleeding immediately..

Our operations were different, they pumped CO2 into your abdomin (abdomen) because they had to be able to see what they were doing and manuever around using only those three tiny incisions.  My operation was basically like a C-section where they made a horizontal cut across my abdomin (abdomen), so they had full access to my tubes etc.. I did have quite a bit of gas afterwards and was bloated for about 3 days.

But I have read alot of stories of the laparoscopic surgery and the extreme bloating is normal but I'm not sure how long it lasts.

I just has my lef tube removed due to my eptopic pregnancy on the 3/4/08. My surgery was similar to yours. They did the laparoscopic inspection, but the embro was too big so they continued with a horizontal incision at my bekini line... My bloating lasted 3 days as well its still slightly swollen. I have light spotting... Im nervous as to what caused the eptopic were you informed of anytersts that could check for possible issues in the other tube? Hsve you put heat or cold on your pain areas to help alleviate it? I'm out of work for 8 weeks

I had surgery on monday to remove an eptopic. It was done laparoscopicly with 3 insicions but they took the tube aswell as I was 6 weeks. My stomach is huge and i cant fit in any clothes! Started bleeding 2 days after op but at least this sounds normal.
Im so gutted as we were due to start ivf in 3 weeks time but after 7 years of trying we concieved naturally, only to have it removed.
Going ahead with ivf in couple of months but scared about it happening again
