Bleeding in Pregnancy

by leahms_87, Nov 03, 2006 12:00AM
I'm currently 6w4d pregnant and have have very slight spots of blood. I've had my HCG levels checked and every thing seems ok, but I'm still a little worried after my last 2 m/c and my doctor hasn't offered much of a reason as t where the blood is coming from. Have any of you other ladies experienced light spots and know where they came from. Anything helpful would be much appreciated.  Lots of sticky baby dust to u all.

hi i am know 21 weeks and i have been bleeding for 2 weeks. when i went to the hospital i had cramps but no bleeding or spotting just felt like i was going to start my period. then when they were getting ready to send me home i started cushing bright red blood. they then admitted me into the delivery floor to do a sono. when they did sono everything looked fine. so they told me i would stay over night and see someone the next day. did that and he couldn't tell me why i was bleeding! i then went and seen my dr still bleeding and he said i had 2 blot clots in my placenta. babys is healthy and he didn't seem like it was a big deal. he said some women just bleed or spot for no apparent reson. i would call your dr immeditatly though to make sure nothing is wrong since your so early in your pregnancy. (im still bleeding and baby always looks great when i go to dr) hope the best to you

I just wanted to tell you I had some bleeding with my son.  It was bright red, and a pretty good amount.  I was told I would probably miscarry by the oncall Dr. and should wait it out and see my Dr. after teh weekend.  I was devastated and was right around 5 1/2 to 6 weeks.  Needless to say I was fine, baby was fine and they never did figure out why it happened.  Some women just bleed in early pregnancy.  I did bleed with my m/c too, but it was painful too.  I agree with the above poster, just call your Dr. asap and let them know.  Good luck, hope it's nothing and you are both doing fine.

I had bleeding at 6 weeks with this pregnancy as well.  It wasn't heavy, but I did have some pains to go with it so I thought for sure I was miscarrying like I had done previously at 8 weeks in a pregnancy before this one.  An u/s and blood tests revealed everything was fine and we saw a beating heart on our baby.  A few days ago, at 19 weeks pregnant, I had a spot of blood in my underwear.  When I went to show my husband and get some new underwear and a panty liner I started bleeding very heavy, just kind of pouring or running out covering my pants and underwear.  I was rushed to the labor and delivery at 9PM where they did some tests and checked me out by u/s and internal exam.  I'm not dilating and the u/s showed the baby looked good as did the fluid.  The bleeding looked like it was just turning to spotting so they told me to go home and come back if it happened again.  I have an appointment on Tuesday with my OB cause she was out of town this week, so we'll see what's going on.  No one seemed to have any good reason for the bleeding, but everyone agreed it is not normal to bleed so much so far along.

Good luck to you, I can tell you there is still hope!

Hey I know how worried you are.  I had two MC and not fun at all.  I had one healthy baby girl between both of those, and I also had bleeding with her at 18 wks preg.  No one could explain why.

I cant tell you whether its a bad sign or not.  Both my MC I bled and lost one at 7 wks, other at 10 wks.  Just know that God made our bodies to detect anything possibly wrong and whatever happens its for a reason in the long run.  I didnt understand at the time, but I have since been able to help alot of friends with simuliar problems, and I am a stronger individual.  Your fear is normal, and we cannot control anything in our lives.  I will pray for you, I am pregnant again, only 4 weeks, and I too am petrified, but I just have to keep praying, and hope for the best.

Take care of yourself.  Stay positive as your HCG numbers are great!

Congrats to you on your new pregnancy! I've had 2 miscarriages and have two healthy baby boys too.  I am almost 20 weeks with our 3rd son, but have had bleeding at 6 weeks and now again, heavy, at 18 weeks.  No one can tell me why, it has slown down and is now more brown old blood, but at first was bright red and heavy.  Baby still is fine and healthy and hopefully I will carry to term as you did with your daughter.  Thanks for the hope!
