Blighted Ovum

Blighted Ovum

hi, I'm very confused right now. I found out i was pregnant on jan 21,2009, took two tests and went to planned parenthood to make sure i was pregnant. I had all the signs of being pregnant. I was tired and throwing up and sore breast. I started bleeding on friday morning, it was bright red but not like a ton and no clots. So i went to the doctor and they did a u/s and told me i had a blighted ovum. I would have been 8 weeks on monday. The bleeding has continued a little bit but not a lot at all. And then today it has completely almost all together stopped. I'm just wondering how long it might take for me to fully m/c or if they might have misdiagnosed me, because i've been reading all of these stories about that? I know i haven't passed anything because i'm sure i would be able to tell if i have or not. I'm just at a lost at what to do and worried about the fact that i have stopped bleeding. Help ease my mind..its starting to drive me crazy.

Well I know sometimes doctors like doctors offices are wrong because they just want to get their work done and go home... Sometimes... So try the hospital because they migh be able to give you much better answers on this...

Not sure if you have gotten an answer yet, but I had a blighted ovum a few years ago.  I was almost 11 weeks along & began to bleed.  I went in to my OBGyn even though I bled with my first baby much more, I was still uneasy.  My uterus had risen up out of my pelvis already & my cervix was closed tight, all good signs, then they did the u/s & it was empty.  I was able to see my first son at 6 weeks, so I trusted my Dr & she searched all over to be sure that this time it was a b/o.  I waited a couple days, was told it could drag on for weeks before I m/c even though I was bleeding.  I was given the option for a d&c, or to pass it naturally.  After 2 days I did take a prescription for Cytotec & was able to induce a m/c.  It was painful, but it was done over the weekend & I was able to move on & get pregnant again.  I hope all is well with you & go back to the clinic if you are not seeing anything happening soon.
