Bloating, emotional and tired!

by Casey1, Sep 06, 2003 12:00AM
Hi all, I'm 5 weeks 2 days, and I've heard it is normal to be gassy when you are pregnant, but it's a bit different than I expected.  It is high in my GI tract, and quite uncomfortable.  I had to unbutton my pants halfway through the day yesterday.  *snicker*  The little gas twinges are kind of scary, because I'm always thinking - was that a cramp??  But I can tell it's not.  I'm also pretty emotional, and it's really bad if I'm tired.  I'm used to exercising a LOT, but it's hard to now when I come home from work and have to crawl into bed because I'm so tired.

Writing this, I can see that it is all normal and to be expected.  Thanks for listening though! :)

Cherish your symptoms!!!  Relax, enjoy your pregnancy!  If you don't feel like going to work out, don't go!  As for the gas, yeah, that can be weird.  Wear loose pants, don't drink from bottle, don't talk while eating-so you don't swallow extra air.  Make sure to take naps every day.  I remember I could not make it thru the day without taking at least an hour-long nap.  Now it's better but at 17 weeks there are other issues to deal with...and I love it.  I'm so happy for you!!!!

Yeah I'm showing a little bit, but I still have a long way to go.  I wear maternity pants (work-out pants-not the nicest looking, but I love it),and since I can hardly button my shirts, I guess I'm gonna have to start buying some new stuff.  So 35 weeks for you...I don't know how long we have to deal with that ugly gas-business, but I'm afraid it's not over yet for me either. Take care!
