Blood in placenta

My daughter-in-law is 9-12 weeks pregnant, she has had some light vaginal bleeding and discharge. She has been told that there is blood in the placenta. What does blood in the placenta mean, and what are the risks.

I was told I had bleeding behind the placenta and they initially told me it was okay and that it would stop.  Unfortunately I ended up having a miscarriage.  But like I said they said it could be just fine so only time will tell.

I'm sorry to hear about your daugter in law.  It must be scary for you too.  I had bleeding behind my placenta and the first two pregnancies...it was totally fine..it resolved itself.  I hope the best for her!
