Blood results showed DS

Blood results showed DS

Hi ladies:

Im at 17 weeks and dont feel the baby much, do you know when Im supposed to feel it daily and if anyone of you had a triple screen test and the results came back positive for DS and trismoy 18 and now have her baby, I would like to know if the baby was born healthy and fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im really anxious and concerned, I will be going for a level II ultrasound the end of the month, I also know that this test has a high rate of false positive, so please get back to me with anything, Thanks

Yes they do have a high rate of false positives so i wouldnt worry too much. I didn't start feeling my little girl move everyday till 19wks. It still feels like little bubbles or flutters at this point, but it wasn't till 19wks I sstarted feeling them every day. I felt my first movement at 16wks then nothing again till 18wks and not every day till 19wks. So Try not to worry too much. My doctor and I decided not to even do the triple screen. Good luck.

Hi Tina,
I'm 18 weeks and my triple screen also came back abnormal. This DOES NOT mean you are positive for Downs by any means. They retested me and called to day and once again my levels were high.
I go for a level II on Tuesday which seems like a lifetime away and I'm a nervous wreck but we both have to keep the statistics in mind:

Of all woman tested....3-5% come back abnormal. Of those 3-5%....only 10% actually have babies with health issues. That means 90% of those that tested abnormal are fine.

I will be thinking of you! I know it's so difficult. I'm trying so hard to stay calm. I'm sure we will both have beautiful healthy babies.

I had an abnorm also bk when i was 18w mine was 1/12 of trisomy 18!! went in a week later for the level2 ultrasound and they found nothing wrong with my son!! have gone in 5 times since due to placenta previa and they check to see if there are any markers for trisomy 18 and nothing i am now 29 weeks 4 days(they told me it was a false positive) so keep your chin up !!  when i went in for each ultrasound i made sure to ask alot of questions cause most times they dont talk during them till the end, if there is something u want to know make sure to ask them  even if u have to more then once!!  gl with every thing
