Breakfast during pregnancy

Breakfast during pregnancy

Okay I am not pregnant, but just have a question. I am ttc. I do not eat breakfast, I do not eat until about 12:00p.m each day. By the time I sit down and eat my stomach has been growling. Is this okay or very unsafe? I am in my 2ww and miscarried months ago, just wanting to be safe. I just cannot eat breakfast because it makes me ill!!

I am not a breakfast eater either.  Just like you I eat everyday around 11:30 I just dont start to get hungry until then.  But when I became pregnant I thought I should eat something so I started eating cerial and then as the Morning Sickness started it became bagles and now I eat all day and gained a million pounds - your body will tell you what it needs trust me.  (your prenatal vitamins may require food with them as well)

before I got preggo with my first DS I never agte breakfast either.  Then all of a sudden I started getting hungry in the morning so i had to eat.  That was kinda one of my little hints that I was preggo.  Cause I could NEVER eat in the mornings.  I am still that way when I am not preggo.  But now that I am (27weeks) I eat something every morning.  Cause if you skip a meal so does the baby.  You should be fine for now.  Your body will let you know if you need to eat.  Good luck!

I dont think one has to do with the other.  some people just eat breakfast.  If you are concerned, how about a carnation instant breakfast?  or slim fast shake?  at least there are some vitamins and calories in them.
good luck!

I have a harder time with breakfast in late pregnancy. Early on, I would feel sicker if I didn't eat breakfast, but now I usually feel like I'm going to be sick if I eat before 11 am. As long as you don't let your blood sugar get too low, and you are getting enough nutrition, don't worry about it, pregnant or not.

I was never a breakfast person either, and still not crazy about a lot of breakfast foods.

BUT...they do say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you're trying to get pg, and could possibly BE pregnant (since you're in your tww), I would try to eat a little something. If it turns out you ARE pg, then you'd be surprised at all the things already beginning to develop in the baby...organ, nervous system, etc...

You definitely want to give the baby as much nourishment as you can from day one (healthy nourishment! :-)

If nothing else, just eat some toast (I like cheese toast, but peanut butter on toast is really good too...even if you just eat ONE slice of bread!)or a bowl of cereal. You could also drink a glass of orange juice or milk if you don't eat breakfast. At least you'll have something healthy in your stomach. I only drink chocolate milk, and prefer TANG over OJ, but that's just me! LOL

Or perhaps you could just try to eat a granola bar mid-morning...don't wait until 12 to eat anything at all.

This is just my opinion...so take it for what it is. :-)

Best of luck!

The other thing to keep in mind is that there is NO rule that you have to eat "breakfast food" at breakfast.  It could be lentil salad, or soup and sandwich, or any darn thing, it doesn't have to be cereal or scrambled eggs.  Good luck!
