If you can, drink a 20 oz. bottle of water every time you pump. It is normal for the milk supply to slow down a little after the frist week or two. You may have to pump for slightly longer periods of time to get the same amount. If you keep it up though, your supply should meet the demand. When my daughter was a few days old, I could get 8 oz. on 5 minutes using a double pump. She is now 2 mos, and it takes about twice as long to get the same amount. My friends son wouldn't latch on until hewas 6 weeks old. She was persistent though. Keep trying to get him to latch on every time he wants to eat. Pump just a little to soften your breast, then try to nurse him. After you try for 5-10 minutes, or he is too frustrated, give him the bottle, and pump the rest of your milk.
Are your breasts hard. You may have to squeeze your breasts to get rid of the milk that is harding your breasts.
My son wouldn't latch on for the first few days and I was pumping. My breasts became hard and aching, my doctor showed me that I had to get rid of the milk which was causing the hardening.
I agree that you should try to get him to latch on all each time. That is what I had to do. He will be 2 weeks tomorrow and I when i took him home, I was crying as he wouldnt feed from me and I wasnt prepared for anything else.
Keep trying. When you pump the milk you should be next to your son as this stimulates the milk flow.
make sure you go to the one that ends in number 2 (apparently there were too many lookers in the first one!)
I hope you are doing well.
