Breastfeeding worries

by mrswest, Mar 15, 2007 12:00AM
I was doing some reading on breastfeeding and i realized that i might have a problem with it.  I have inverted nipples (sorry if TMI) and was wondering of any women on here have the same condition as me and how their brestfeeding experience was.  Did you also have trouble pumping?  I want to breastfeed but i am not sure i can do it anymore. Please Help!

You could say mide were semi-inverted.  I did not have a problem breast feeding at all.

They have nipple shields that can help draw out the nipple. they are made specifically for women who have inverted or flat nipples. Ask your OB or call the hospital and ask for the lactation consultant and they should be able to help set you up.

My sister in law breastfed 2 kids for a year each. She had to start with the nipple sheilds until the babies figured out how to nurse well on their own.
