Breastmilk Stains/Open Forum

Silly question but does anyone know of a trick to get rid of breast milk stains on your clothes?  I have a few shirts that I've leaked on and now there are spots after I've washed them!

I know there are tricks for other types of stains (like dish soap for grease spots) but what about breast milk?

Most of the stains were from the first few days post partum so it is most likely the yellow colostrum that did the damage.

Thanks!
Amy

Try making a tiny amount of paste by mixing maybe a spoonful of bleach and a spoonful of powdered tide detergent. Apply the paste to the spots and then gently fold the fabric and rub the fabric against itself a few times or just rub the paste into the spots with an old toothbrush or vegetable scrub brush or other laundry brush. It works like a charm. Don't be alarmed if the mixture suddenly turns a color and then goes clear-that's what it's supposed to do.

I used to use Oxi Clean baby, it's specially made for baby stains, put a scoop of it in a bucket or sink full of warm-hot water and let it soak and it works wonders for formula & spit up stains. A good tip if you can at the time rinse out the item ASAP, then it will get the most out plus it's wet and the stain doesn't usually set in when the fabric is wet.You can put it in the washing machine too! I got it at WalMart.Good luck!

At Dollar Tree or Dollar General they sell this product called Awesome.I recommend the one in the spray bottle, not the powder form.Spray stain real good let it sit over night wash as normal. If stain has been set for awhile it might take more than one time. You will be amazed I use it on some baby clothes from my first daughter(11yrs)you would never know they were stain. It is a great product can use it for just about anything and it is only a $1.00.Wish everyone the best of luck with those stains.
