C-Section followed by gallbladder complications?

C-Section followed by gallbladder complications?

I had a c-section 4 months ago, and now I have a HORRIBLE pressure and pain in my upper abdomen. I feel sick every time I eat, and occasionally have diarrhea. It hurts worse when I lay on my back, but the pain is so bad I can barely stand it. My mom is suggesting that it could be my gall bladder and its common in women following c-sections. Has anyone else had problems with their gall bladder after a c-section??? Any info would be fantastic!!!!!

I had a C-section 5 months ago and I have felt great.  did you recover well?  It does not sound like your new pain could be related to the C-section?

Sorry I could not help.

Hun it more than likely is def your gallbladder...i had my first attack like 20 days after my baby was born. The pain is unbearable. Go to the dr and or e.r. you will prob need it taken out. When i was going in for surgery the dr's were surprised i was so young and needed my GB out and then they realized i had just had a baby and say after a baby its very likely you will have GB probs. And the pain is the same kind i had..horrible and makes you feel sick and no matter what position your in it wont go away.

Oh but i didnt have a c-section, it has nothing to do with that. GB probs happen because the hormones when preg affect the Gb for some reason

I just had mine taken out last Friday, no c-sections, but three full term pregnancies in 5 years did mine in. They, too, were surprised to see someone my age and physical shape having it removed. But again, factoring in the pregnancy aspect and voila!

Speak with your doctor. You need to rule out problems associated with the c-section and make sure you are on the right track.

I went to the doctor today.....he put me on some meds and is doing a scope of my stomach in two weeks. He is thinking ulcers, but said he wants to rule everything out before putting me under the knife to remove my GB. So, we shall see in two weeks!!!! The pain is HORRIBLE though!

Ewwww!!  A scope?  That's crazy!  I had my GB taken out 5 yrs ago.  The dr ordered a Sono to check for gall stones and sure enough, that's what it was.  I hope he doesnt make you wait too long!!!

Why do you have all the good luck Cheyenne? lol My gosh...I sure hope you are feeling better soon. Mom says with all you've been through, he wouldn't have an ulcer! lol And hopefully it is just an ulcer not the gallbladder. (not that either is enjoyable!)

I had gallbladder attacks during my first pregnancy and was told that the hormones in your body when you are pregnant really mess with it. I didn't know I had a bad gallbladder until I was 6 months pregnant.  One of the telltale signs of gallbladder is if the pain shoots through to your back or at least that is what I have been told.  My symptoms were middle upper stomach shooting through to the back.  I felt like if I could just throw up I would get relief but it wouldn't help.  Horrible pain.  I made sure I had it removed before I went through another pregnancy with it.
