CLOMID AND PROGESTERONE LEVELS

by hopefuldreamer, Oct 20, 2006 12:00AM
I just finished my first round of Clomid, cd3-7, 50 mgs.  My dr. sent me for blood work on cd21 to test for my progesterone levels.  I just got the results and it's 21.  The nurse said optimal is 10.  Can anyone elaborate for me?  What does that mean?  Isn't that a little high?  I am also taking a progesterone supp at night, I had two m/c's in the past.  I am not due until next week.  Any input would be much appreciated.

That's not too high.  It just means that you ovulated.  Below 10 is generally a problem.  Mine is usually in the 20's on CD21 also (after Clomid)...

Well, that is a good level but it ONLY means that you ovulated.  My progest. level was 78 and I wasn't pregnant.  It only meant that I ovulated.  Since you did ovualte there is a chance that you are pregnant, but just know that your progest. level is NOT an indicator of pregnancy.
Good luck to you!
