CONTRACTIONS?

CONTRACTIONS?

Hey Ladies,

Haven't posted in a while, pregnancy is going pretty goo. I am 28 weeks now, so getting excited that its almost over. I have been having this one problem though. Ocassionally, my stomach just hardens up, and it lasts for a long time. This happens esp. at night, and it gets impossible to sleep, because it is uncomfortable and painful. Last night was awful. My stomach hardened up, and it was still hard when I woke up around 3am, and up untill this morning. I drink plenty of water, so I know I cant be dehydrated, and I am not even sure if these are contractions, because they dont come and go, they last for a long time, then disappear for a few days. What do you ladies think? Anyone else experience this?

I experienced these in a previous pregnancy usually when I moved to change postitions while sleeping. However, at 28 weeks you should probably place a call in to the nurse line just to make sure that this isn't something more. Best of luck!

i get those all the time, i dont think its necesserily a contraction, but i think she moves to the top of my belly or something, it is painful but i would call your dr to make sure, one bhc should not last all night long,

im 29 weeks and i will have days where my belly is hard all day( well it seems like it, im not sure if it lasts ALL day long) but i know its very uncomfortable, try to get some rest and keep drinking that water, with my dd i went into early labor because i was dehdrated, and i drink water all day long....go figure

I had similar problems, however, I'm only 22 weeks.  My dr. associated it with indigestion.  I like to eat spicy - greasy foods and my body is telling me that it isn't such a good idea. My dr told me to take some Pepcid after a meal.  When I went on vaction 2 weeks ago, it happened three times and let me tell you, Mylanta was my bestfriend....  Horrible feeling.  I would definitely contact your dr if it continues, you never know what it could be.  I would want to make sure that everything is ok.

I think you might be right. I ate a pretty fatty meal of pizza and ice cream pretty late last night(I usually only have a glass of milk after 6pm.) If I recall when they happened before, I think I did eat some spicy thai food that night. I guess I'll take some mylanta next time I decide to eat late or anything fatty/spicy. I just dont like taking medicine. I have been drug free this whole pregnancy so far. Well I have a dr. appt next tues. I'll ask him then to be sure.. I am ok right now. Thanks!
