Can I still take birth control to help control my period if I've had my tubes tied?

Can I still take birth control to help control my period if I've had my tubes tied?

I had my tubes tied about 20 years ago. I still have my period each month. Is it possible to still take birth control to help control and regulate my period even though I've had them tied?

Having your tubes tied doesn't affect menstruation.

If you had your tubes tied 20 years ago it sounds like you might be going through perimenopause - and this is something to discuss with your doctor if you want to be on the pill.

There are some theories that it's not safe to go on the pill at this time,  your doctor would be better able to consult with you.
