Can fibroids cause a MC? HELP!

Hi there ladies,

In my last US, the sonologist said that the sac was pushed to the extreme left side of the uterus wall and he suspects that a fibroid is dividing the uterus into two. He also said that this could be the reason why i never carry beyond 6 wks. (I'm 8wks as per LMP but measuring only 4)

But when my doctor did an US earlier at 7wks, he could see a fibroid but he wasn't too concerned.

I've done some reseatch and am getting mised signals, so it would really help if you can shed some light on this.

Hi, the answer is yes, they can.
But, in many cases, there are women that carry a healthy baby with fibroid/s and have no much problem with them.
In my case, i had a BO (what we thought it was) and a chem pregnancy a year ago.......and RE said that most likely the fibroid i have right now is what caused them. Mine is 4cm and my uterus is tilting and my tubes blocked by it. So, there's no way i can conceive, and if in a freak case i do, i would most likely miscarry again.....
Sorry to hear you are going thru this and i certainly hope this is not your case and you carry a HEALTHY baby for 9 months.....

yup i think it does.... i agree with V.... fibroids can get in the way, compete for blood supply and compete for the attachment site that's why people have m/c
