It depends on the damage done to your tubes, and the procedure you had. Some are more easily reversed than others. For example, if you just had clips you have the best chance of successful reversal and pregnancy after. If you had them clipped and burned your odds are much lower of success. It is still possible however. The cost varies from area to area and from each doctor. Usually it can cost anywhere from $3,000-$6,500.

Just for the record, it is not that they get tied and untied.  They either get clamped, like Clysta says, (with some nylon or plastic things that are more or less clamps), or they get actually cut, burnt with a cauterizing tool, folded back on themselves and stitched.  If you had the former procedure, it is a simpler matter to remove the clamps and hope the tubes are none the worse for having had the process.  If you had the latter procedure, the tubes are not "untied" to reverse it, they are reconstructed.  A fallopian tube is about as big around as the insert in a ballpoint pen, and reconstructing them without scarring is a pretty delicate thing to do.  The risk with reconstruction is that (besides the cost being all out-of-pocket), if scar tissue forms where they are sewn back together, there is a chance that the embryo will lodge there and cause an ectopic pregnancy.  If you talk to a doctor about all of this, ask what the odds are of actually getting pregnant and having the pregnancy make it all the way to the uterus.
