Can you have LH serge and then ovulate late?

Just wondering if you can have a positive OPK and then for other reasons end up ovulating later? Or when they says ovulation can be late because of stress or other reasons, does that mean the LH surge happens later also? Thanks for your help.

Yes you can have an LH surge and then not ovulate. And yes, if you ovulated later you will have another LH surge, because the LH surge is actually what causes the egg to pop out. The only way to really know if you have ovulated is if your temperature rises and stays risen. I have this problem myself this month, and am really hoping I still ovulate.
