Nope, still not feeling a whole lot more yet. Just a few faint fluttersAtrial fibrillation/flutter now and then. I do get this weird feeling sometimes though, but it's almost like my heart is being squished or something. I can't explain it, but it kinda leaves me breathless.
Mandy I loved your story about the frogs - I can't remember seeing a frog except for on TV or at some kind of reptile and creepy crawly show. I wouldn't have the faintest idea where to even find frogs up here...in fact I don't even know if we have them in my province. If we do, they aren't very commonCommon cold! I would think catching frogs as a kid would be so much fun!!!
Guess what? I've been feeling all kinds of baby bubbles this afternoon! Yay! Maybe it's the chocolate I ate after lunch - gave the baby a sugar rush. It feels pretty neat :)
That is sooo awesome Lil Pig! I can't wait until I can count on feeling something on a regularRegular insulin basis. About a week ago I felt the baby move (fluttersAtrial fibrillation/flutter) like 3 days in a row. Since then I really haven't felt much of nothing. I know that it's normal but it is bothering me a bit. I sure hope everything is ok for my little one.
Yeah my flutters have been coming in and out, depending on the day as well. Last night was a good night! I can't wait until it's more regular AND my hubby can feel it - he's very anxious!
Lil Pig- AWWWW!! I'm so happy for you! It's an amazing feeling, isn't it? You just wait, though. My little angel is moving so forceful that my whole stomach moves and bounces. Only thing is, she's up and moving almost all night long! I hope it's not a sign of things to come.
Yeah Mandy, you must be about 15 weeks or so now? I remember you saying you were due about a month or so after me, and I'm about 19 weeks now. Yikes, pretty much halfway there!
momof32b - You've only got about 3 months now right? Woohoo! I have a friend who's due around the same time, maybe in fact the exact same date. Small world :)
Had my u/s yesterday. Everything looks good as far as I could read from the tech.
She said I was still measuring about a week ahead - at least that part has been consistent with all 3 of my u/s. Baby is about 13oz, which she said is right on target. Baby was very active AGAIN. I'm starting to wonder what I'm getting myself into - I don't know if I"ll have the energy for such an active child!!!!
Sorry it has taken me a little bit to get back. I tried writing twice before but kept getting re-directed to an advertisement page for a medicine, which caused my computer to lock up. It was so frustrating. Anyway, hope everyone is feeling good! I am so happy for you Lil Pig sounds like you have a very healthy baby on the way. =)
Yesterday started my 17th week. We will find out the sex on May 30th... soooo excited and almost feel like I can't wait!! I am SO hungry lately... I feel like I am going to be bigger than a house if I keep eating like I am. I felt my baby move last week for 4 days in a row, but since then nothing. Seems like this one likes to play on my emotions...lol
For some reason my doctor changed my due date to Oct. 23rd so we shall see...
Mandy, that's great you felt the baby move! Mine did that at first, on and off all the time, sometimes I'd feel nothign for days. Now I feel something every day, on and off.
I don't if my baby can hear yet, but he/she seems to respond to certain music (or maybe it's me singing!) There's one song in particular that seems to get him/her moving - See You Again by Miley Cyrus. Too funny. Can babies hear anything ayt 21 weeks? I must go look that up......
I think it's ok that you feel hungry all the time. It might pass though. There was a few weeks when I couldn't stop eating, and it was probbaly right around where you are now. In those few weeks my belly seemed to grow overnight!! Now in the last 2 weeks or so my appetite seems to be a little less ravenous. Maybe it was a growth sprut, and your baby is having one now :)
Yep, I agree it must of been a growth spurt. My appetite goes in and out on me. Sometimes I could eat a house and others I can't finish my meal...it is crazy...LOL It has been almost 8 yrs since I was last pregnant so I guess I have forgotten what it is like.
Good news is we should know what we are having in 11 more days, not that I am counting or anything...hehehe
I am starting to get just a little worried because I still haven't felt the baby and it has been a little over a week and a half. I went out and bought a stethoscope tonight to see if I could hear movement but I really don't know what that would sound like and those goofy things hurt my ears!! So nothing with that...
Nope not yet! I've tried couple of times to catch it moving, but the baby always seems to stop! I've managed to catch it a few times on my own while I'm just sitting at work - I leave my hand on my belly. I THINK I can feel it with my hand, but I'm not sure. It's hard becuase I can feel it inside and I think that might be misleading me to think I can feel it outside too!! Wait and see I guess!
Had another prenatal again this morning. Boy the months are going fast. It was the first time I saw my new ob-gyn. She's really nice. When she checked my uterus though, she said, "Wow you're big". Then she measured it again said, "Wow, you're really big. Are you sure there was only one baby on the U/S?" So because I'm big for term, I'm going for U/S #4 on July 2nd. I thought I had a growth spurt in the last 3 weeks or so. My belly seems to have popped out of nowhere, although everyone says I'm still only small, so go figure!
I wonder does that mean I'll more likely go earlier than my due date if I continue to measure so much bigger? I hope it doesn't mean there is anything wrong. Oh my!
I can completely relate to what you said Lil Pig about thinking you can feel it with your hand... I remember feeling like that in my first pregnancy. That sounded sooo familiar when I read that!
Aaaawwww I bet you have a cute baby bump! I on the other hand look like I am carring a watermelon. I am more wide in the belly rather than having that round belly look.
I wonder how momof32b and unborn is doing?
I started feeling my baby again, THANK GOD! I was starting to work myself into a worry. The movements are a tad stronger so that is pretty cool.
Hey Dolls!! All is well here, just been extremely busy!!!!!!!! I'm HUGE and this baby feels like she's coming out any day. I had a 4d u/s and it was amazing. She's perfect and I can't wait to meet her. Now...if we could just name the poor thing. My husband and I do NOT agree on names, so this could be BAD.
LilPig...I'm not sure why you're meauring big...hmmmm...interesting. Keep me posted on that. I wonder why they're waiting until July 2nd? I'll be about to deliver by then! I'm already 30 weeks!
Mandy...thank HEAVENS you're feeling that baby move again!! Gosh, I was worried when I was reading the posts. I monitor my movements all the time..just for peace of mind. Only a couple more days until you know the sex! Can't wait to find out!
My husband and I don't agree on names for the most part either, we decided on a boy and girl name back before we were pregnant and to this day I can't get him to just take a look at other names with me to be sure we are 100% happy with the names we have already agreed on. I sure hope you two can come to an agreement soon...the next month will fly by. What names are you interested in? You might end up like my cousin where the hospital will refuse to let you leave until you name your baby.
I can't believe 30 weeks already! I wish I was there with you, I used to love being pregnant but to be honest I want the next 21 weeks to go in fast forward. 7 more days till our ultrasound... I really can't wait!!
momof3 - I can't believe it's so close already for you! Where did the time go? Hopefully you both agree on a name soon
Mandy, glad you're feeling the baby again. One less thing to be concerned about! I can't wait to hear what you're having :)
I'm starting to get a little nervous about this measuring big thing. While it can just be something as simple as the position of the baby and how I'm carrying, it can also mean too much amniotic fluid, which could be a sign of abnormalities. Oh dear - all I want is a perfectly normal healthy baby! Oh the worries! I don't like this part! The next 6 weeks until that u/s are going to be torture :(
hi everyone. i'm just dropping in. i see everyone is doing well that's a blessing. well i'm 30 weeks on monday and feel like i'm bout to pop any day now. i think is going to be a big baby.but i'm ready to meet him. it's been real hot in louisiana so try to stay inside alot.but i just wanted to say hi to everyone amd god bless.
It's a GIRL!!! The ultrasound tech said that she was 100% sure so we went out and bought up a bunch of pink stuff. I am sooo very excited! Madison Paige is her name...
Try not to worry too much Lil Pig. I was really big in my first pregnancy and my son came out very healthy. I will say a prayer for you and your baby and also that the next 6 weeks fly by because I know that you are going to worry anyway. I totally understand, I was really worried when the baby stopped moving for that 2 weeks, or at least that I couldn't feel it. Pregnancy is just the beginning of all the worries... I can freak myself out pretty easy about stuff, I just start thinking of all the things that could happen...geeeezzz... sometimes I am my own worst enemy.
Hi Unborn! It's all down hill from here for you and momof32b, I can't wait to get there!
Yay a girl! I kinda hope that's what I'm having, but I won't send the baby back if it's a boy either, that's for sure!! ha ha!
Does that mean everyone on here is having girls? I can't remember. I swear the baby brain is getting so BAD these days - worse all the time. I feel like an idiot more often than not!! LOL!
Awww...a girl! Ain't that the sweetest! Unborn is having a boy, so no not all girls. After all we have been thru, the sex of the baby was the least important thing to me. I told everybody that it could have had fur and I would love it just the same...hehe. I love the name Madison Paige! How sweet! With our other 2 kids it was easy to name them. This time is different. I want to name her Emerson Faith but my husband HATES it! I've developed a new strategy though...I go home w/ these really off the wall names and he hates them worse than he does Emerson. It's actually working b/c the other night he said "Emerson doesn't sound as bad as it used to". Not exactly what I was hoping for but I'm desperate! I do have some other names floating around but nothing I like as much. OH well.
Back pain has set in and I had to get an orthopaedic brace and thankfully it's helping! I move a lot slower these days and sleep is a rare thing. 32 weeks today and back to the dr today at 1:30 and every 2 weeks until 36 weeks. I can't believe it's gone this quickly!
LilPig-don't worry. I'm sure everything is going to be just fine. A friend of mine did have a lot of fluid w/ her baby but she's a perfect 8 year old now. Oh...and Tatorbug40 says hi!
My back has been really bad the last few months, and seems to be getting worse. Does the back brace really help? If my back gets worse I may end up having ot get something like that too if it helps.
Oh yeah and gues what? I think my feet are bigger. This past week my shoes have been getting tighter it seems. Yesterday and today it's really bad. My once very comfortable shoes I can now barely stand to have on my feet! And they're not swollen, so if they haven't grown, I don't know what else it might be. I have heard that your feet can grown during pregnancy. Weird.
This brace has been fantastic! It's wide in the back w/ some sort of plastic supports built in. The front is a separate piece that velcros on each side of your belly. It goes under your belly and kind of pulls it up. I've noticed a real difference. Talk to your OBGYN b/c mine gave me a prescription for it and my insurance covered it. I know things are a little different in Canada so if going this route won't work, let me know. I'll email you all the details off the box and maybe you can order it online.....and YES your feet grow in pregnancy!!! Mine did from my first pregnancy 11 years ago and still have never gone back to that size. My BFF has had the same thing happen. It's okay if you have little feet to begin w/ but I'm now in a 9!! Can you say skis??? LOL
Whoa! Can you believe that we are 1/2 way though this year yet?? Where is the time going??
My feet grew from a size 8 to a size 9 from my 1st pregnancy and have never gone back, I do wonder why that happens...
How cute~ Emerson Faith... I hope you can win over your hubby momof32b.
Not a whole lot of new stuff in my corner. Well... except when I went to the doctor they found protein in my urine. I have to go back in two weeks for another test because the doctor is concerned about the possibility of preeclampsia. My fingers are swollen too, but that isn't too far fetched for me since I had swollen fingers in my first pregnancy and I think maybe in my second. In my first pregnancy I was borderline preeclampsia just my blood pressure never went too crazy...but they took my first son 2 weeks early.
Has anyone ever heard of any other reasons that could show protein in urine?
While some foot growth can be attributed to pregnancy swelling (edema), there's another reason that feet increase in size during pregnancy and don't shrink back after. Remember relaxin — that pregnancy hormone that loosens the ligaments and joints around your pelvis so your baby can fit through? Well, relaxin doesn't discriminate between the ligaments you'd want loosened up (like those pelvic ones) and those you'd rather they'd just leave alone (like those on your feet). The result: When the ligaments in the feet are loosened, the bones under them tend to spread slightly, resulting, for many women, in a half or whole shoe-size increase. And tootsies that feel suddenly uncomfortably tight.
If you do find yourself running to the mall for a new pair of shoes (no need to be barefoot and pregnant, after all!), buy ones that are comfortable and roomy — and for now, with no more than a sensibly chunky two-inch heel (skip the stilettos — you'll have trouble enough keeping your balance as your belly balloons forward).
So far he's still giving me grief about the name...so as of yet she's still affectionately known as Gouda Mae.
I had protein in my urine a few weeks back and they didn't seem too concerned. Chalked it up to a little dehydration. Have you been pushing the fluids? I think you'll be fine...fingers crossed!!
Interesting on the feet thing! The relaxin is what's giving my pubic bone and pelvis/back a fit.
Well, if there is just one thing that a woman has ever to master, that is how to win over the hubby on certain matters. I almost thought I had the power but I found that my husband keeps me in check from time to time. hehehe
I am glad you said that because I do remember not drinking a whole lot of fluids that day and I think the night before I had soda. So that would certainly take a load off to know that it could be just dehydration. I go back on the 24th for more testing.
So do you think you are going to make it full term or do you have your babies early like I do? My first was taken 2 weeks early and my second came 3 weeks early. I am guess right now that this one will come early to mid October.
Hi Ladies!
I've been out of the loop the last little while. Sounds like everyone is doing great. I can't believe how fast the time is going either. Crazy!
I don't know anything abot protein in urine - I guess I haven't had any issues with that.
I have another prenatal appt on Friday so we'll see how that goes - wonder if I'm still measuring 3 weeks+ ahead? Maybe I will have this baby a little early, who knows :)
Right now I'm rooting for mid-September!
I went to my first prenatal yoga class last night. It was lovely. I could only find one place that offered prenatal, and I ended up on the wait list until last night. FINALLY! I really enjoyed it - so relaxing.
I'm sure I could just push the issue and say it's Emerson and that's final but I don't want him to gag everytime he says her name...hehe. That's the kind of expression I was getting from him when I said it. Avery is on the table too but he won't sit down and just make a decision. My baby shower is 6/21 and I was hoping to have her name picked out by then b/c a lot of my friends wanted to get me monogramed stuff. Oh well.
I hope your tests are normal on the 24th. Just keep drinking that water! I need to be doing that too b/c I had to go in on Monday for a bladder infection. It HURT!
As far as my due date, who know. My son was a week late and my daughter was just about on her due date. My friends don't think I'll make it b/c I'm HUGE! I guess we'll see. It's hot as heck here so early wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit. I don't have much longer either b/c I'm due July 28!
Lilpig-Yoga?! You go girl! I can barely walk let alone stretch. I'm sure it will help you a lot!
Make sure you post when you get back from the dr Friday. I'm curious about the measuring big issue. And you didn't find out the sex, right?
How was evreyone's weekend? Mine wasn't too bad although my hubby didn't get home from his travel (for work) which was kind of disappointing. He was originally going to come to the docs with me.
So yeah, my update. I measured about 29cm on Friday (so ~ 29weeks), but based on my LMP I was only 26 - so I'm no FURTHER ahead than last time. But she had the results from the 20 week US, which put me just over 27 weeks at the time of my Friday appointment, and an earlier due date of September 17th. So she said since that is a little more in line with my measurements, and all my U/S put me ahead at least a week, we're going to go with that. So, September 17th it is! I'm still going for my U/S on July 2nd, just to see what's what, but the last one was perfect she said. Baby was normal, fluid levels were normal - so I guess I'm just big!! Maybe going to have a big baby - GULP!
Now I'm just trying to decide when my last day of work will be. Although, based on my back these days, it might be earlier than I anticipated. I was thinking of working until the end of August and then start my mat leave in September. But my back seems to be getting worse, so that even just sitting in my chair at work is painful.
On a more exciting note, I finally received the bedding for my nursery! It's lovely! The walls in the nursery to be just happen to be yellow, but I wasn't sure how it would look with the sage and cream bedding, but I think it'll be nice! I'm so excited :)
Good to hear updates from everyone. When I went back to the doctor on the 24th, they said there was less protein this time, just a very small trace of it. I made sure to drink lots of water so I guess that helped.
Thanks for the tip momof32b. :) How's the bladder Infection going? I hope it's gone now. Those are NO fun! Let me know when hubby gives his A-OK on a name for your little one. I am excited to find out what it will be!
I so wish I could take Yoga Lil Pig. Our pool has been great for taking the weight off my back so I am grateful to have that. I am also glad you have some relief on the measurement issue. Isn't it awesome to know that your little one will be here even earlier than you had originally planned?! Even though they moved my due date 3 days earlier, I was excited!
I have been feeling my baby move so much more regularly now. It is so awesome. This morning I actually could see my stomach push out when she kicked. That made me so excited. I LOVE this stage in pregnancy. I love watching my belly change shape as the baby moves.
I know! Isn't it so neat to watch your belly move?? Somtimes I get a foot, or hand or sometihng that sticks out and stays there. I usually end up poking it until it moves again. I agree. I really like this stage of pregnancy :)
HI EVERYONE. GLAD TO HEAR EVERYONE IS DOING WELL. WELL AFTER TOMORROW I HAVE 28 DAYS LEFT OF BEING PREGNANT. I'M SO EXCITED AND CAN'T WAIT TO MEET MY NEW LITTLE BUNDLE OF JOY. MY BABYSHOWER IS JULY 13, I HOPE I MAKE IT. WELL GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AND GOD BLESS!
Wow 28 days left!! I get a little freaked out when I think about having 10 weeks left. (But only because the nursery isn't done yet).
Good luck - and I hope you make it to the shower!!
Hey guys...just checking in while I can. I'm down to 18 days and FREAKING out! Her head is so low in my pelvis that when she turns it's like she's griding bone on bone. OUCH! I go to the dr today and HOPEFULLY they'll check me.
Lil Pig-better start working on that nursery! I'm sure it's going to be adorable and I'm glad what you picked out matches your decor. So how was the u/s on July 2nd??? Did you break down and find out the sex??? I'm dying to know!
Unborn-We're running neck and neck in this. I'm sure you're just as ready as me to have this baby out. My shower was June 21 so at least I don't have to worry about missing it. Hope you get lots of goodies!
Mandy-bladder infection is gone but now I'm battling a bacteria infection. Good grief. Can I get a break?? Anyhoo-still no definites on the name so she's still Gouda Mae for now...hehe. Glad you're feeling good!
18 days! Yikes!! That head grinding thing doesn't sound too nice either :( Well it won't be much longer now until you see little Gouda Mae! LOL!
I hope you're feeling better soon, BTW. It's been a rough go for you the last little while.
The u/s went well. I was pretty much dead on with all my other u/s in terms of size and dates and all that. The tech said everything looked perfect, so that's good news. But nope, we still don't know the sex! You'll have to wait! Ha ha!
Well I finally got checked! I'm 50% effaced and 2 cm dialated! OMG! I never did got started this early w/ my other 2. HOLY COW! Guess it could be anytime now.
Lil Pig...so no worries since the u/s...whew! You've got some willpower not finding out the sex. Keep us posted!
Oh my God I'm so excited for you momof3!!! It gives me butterflies in my tummy. When that day comes for me I'm going to lose my marbles I think :)
Well perhaps the next time we hear from you, you'll be a proud new mommy - and hopefully your little girl will have a name by then ;)
Good luck and keep us posted if you can!
How exciting!! I can't wait to find out what you are going to name that baby momof32b... Please keep us updated as you progress... like Lilpig said, next time we hear from you, your little one might already be here!
I hope you get all that you need and more at your babyshower Unborn~ Let us know how it goes :)
I am with you Lilpig, my nursery isn't even close to being done. Hubby and I are going to go pick up masks for me so I can help paint hopefully tomorrow. My mom and I went on a HUGE shopping spree and bought so many cute little girl clothes. I even bought her first Halloween Costume, lol. I bet it is going to be too big for her since she will only be a week or two old by Halloween. The smallest size I could find was 0-3 months. I am counting that I will go like I did with my boys and have her early...
Well I'm still here...and pregnant...LOL. Actually I'm glad. My daughter's 7th bday party was Sat and I was praying I would make it thru that. I would never want her to be resentful to her sister b/c she ruined her party. Plus if I can get thru another week at work, I'll get another weeks pay!! I hurt like CRAZY all day yesterday w/ this baby's head going lower and lower in my pelvis. Everytime she turned I could feel this grinding again that will just about make you insane! And had a few contractions here and there. I really think she'll come this week and seeing how it's a full moon on Friday, I'm guessing around then.
Mandy..if you're using a latex paint, you don't need a mask...just an open window and maybe a fan pulling the air out of the door. I asked my dr and painted almost the entire house when I was pregnant last time. And aren't the girl clothes just ADORABLE???!! I got some gifts this weekend that were just too cute.
Lilpig...Dern I envy your willpower! I can't wait to find out!
Now...the name. We THINK we're going w/ Avery Faith. My DH is willing to concede and let me name her Emerson but still doesn't like it 100%. His favorite is Bentley but I DO NOT like that (reminds me of a sheep dog's name)....so we're willing to compromise. Whatcha think?
I think Avery Faith is a lovely name. I'm with you on Bentley though - it's too masculine for me. In fact, the name gives me images of a stuffy British Butler! LOL!
But Avery Faith is really beautiful!! And since neither of you hate it, you really can't go wrong :)
Mandy, I was wondering about the painting thing myself, so thanks for the info momof3! We're still in the throws of finishing our basement, and there will be lots of painting involved in the next little while. I'd also like to paint our main floor too, but I think I have enough on my plate for now!
Ooohh, new clothes just came by courier for me...I must go try them on. I ordered some things to try and find something suitable for the wedding I have in August. Wish me luck!
Thanks for the input on the name. It's just AMAZING to me how many people have opinions that aren't asked for! I "asked" you guys but complete strangers will ask me about the name(s) and I'll tell them to get the most distasteful remarks or facial expressions. Now I just say "we don't know yet". I sure was hoping to have her name picked out so I could have some stuff monogrammed. Oh well.
How do the clothes look??? Don't you just love maternity clothes!!?!! So comfy!
I hope I didn't offend you with my name comment! I thought it was safe since you already said you didn't like it - otherwise I would never say something like that :)
But I agree - I'm a little wary about telling people some of the names we've picked out. I did it once with a woman at work, and she says "Oh I HATE that name" I was like, well thanks! (I would have loved to say, I don't like your girls names either, so there!)
The clothes were a bust. WAYYYY too big. I have never ordered from this place before, and it's not actually maternity wear, but almost everything (except pants/skirts etc) I've been wearing is just regular, empire waist style clothes. We have ONE store to get maternity clothes here and the selection is poor. What is there in tops/dresses are way too big for me. Anyway, this online store had some nice looking stuff and one of the girls at work gets stuff there all the time. So I used the size chart, and picked out what I thought was a good size (and it's only MED), and I looked like I was a little kid in my parents clothes! Oh well. I was bummed but what do you do?
No, no, no!! You didn't offend me at all!! I appreciate your sweet comments about the name we picked out and I'm sorry if I came across like it hurt my feelings. I was just expressing how I felt about how people are so ready to give you their opinions..when they're not asked for. Just like your "friend" at work. Who cares what they like! It's not their kid! Rude, I tell ya...and speaking of rude...I'm getting the "oh are you sure it's not twins or triplets" comments now! GEEZ! AND..."OMG! You're HUGE!" I mostly just laugh but am sucking my teeth to keep from knocking them out...LOL.
You must be an itty bitty thing for mediums to be too big. Bless your heart! Be glad though. I'm an XL and have been from day one. Just think though, you'll be back in regular clothes before your baby is a month old. Have you looked at motherhood.com for anything? They have cute and reasonably priced stuff. Most of my stuff came from there and I'm going to sell it all on ebay after Avery is born.
I go back to the dr tomorrow at 4:40 and pray they'll check me again. Cross your fingers for progress!
Well ****! I went to the dr yesterday afternoon and have made SOME progress. I'm still 2 cm but am 75% effaced. He was going to strip my membranes but couldn't reach that far up to do it. I don't see how that's possible b/c I swear he left his watch in there...hehe. Anyhoo, I was hoping for some progress this weekend b/c I'm feeling so much pressure but guess I'll have to do this on my own....maybe w/ a little help from the full moon. (sigh....)
Ewww....I'm so freaking big and bulky that being intimate is the LAST thing on my mind. Poor DH...lol. Anyhoo...39 weeks today and NO BABY! I'm MISERABLE!
LOL! You're so funny. I can understand though.
Although my hubby told me the other day that he felt weird being intimate, not because of my size or anything, but just the idea of there being a baby in there. So they have apprehension as well. I thought it was just so cute.
That being said, finding a "position" that doesn't cause me pain or discomfort in some form or another has not happened in months. So needless to say, I can say "poor DH!" as well. Oh they're good for it!
I've been out for a bit as well, and I figured I had missed all the news.
But no news yet! Maybe she had the baby and hasn't been able to get to her computer yet.
How was the 4D ultrasound?
How are you feeling these days? Did you get your nursery done yet?
I have a feeling that she probably did have her baby. How exciting!!
The 4D ultrasound was really, really neat! We got a few face shots but Madison was being very difficult and kept putting her legs over her head making it really hard to get them. We just enjoyed seeing her. I posted a few of the pics from the 4D on my myspace page if you still have the address. We just finished the nursery so I need to take pics of that and put them up to.
I had to go for the 3 hr glucose test on Monday, I failed the 1 hour by 4 points last week.... ugh...I am just praying the results come out good.
Oooh - good luck on the glucose. Hopefully everything turns out ok. You don't want to have to add that to your pregnancy, hey?? It happened to my sister-in-law, but unfortunately her diabetes never went away. But that of course is not the norm.
I'll cross my fingers for you :)
Glad you enjoyed the US.
Nope we don't have our nursery done yet. It's a very sore subject at this point! LOL! Hopefully in the next few weeks though. We have ordered our furniture, so that's a good sign. We were putting that off because there was just nowhere to put it.
Thank you for the well wishes. My glucose test came out fine, Thank God! So there is hope if you fail the one hour test...
How cool! You are getting pretty close yourself, I hope the furniture makes it before your little bundle of joy does :) Do you have a theme for the nursery?
We just finished up on our nursery this past Sunday. I know we finished early but since it is on the top floor I didn't want to be going up and down the stairs so much toward the end of my pregnancy. Stairs are hard for me now for whatever reason. I don't have a theme... just looks like a little girl's room.
I don't have a nursery theme either. Just yellow and green at this point :)
The bedding does have dragonfly accents on it. If we have a girl I may add some girly flower accents or something around the room. If it's a boy, maybe some frogs or something, who knows! The selection is very limited for things like this where I live, so I'll either have to take what I can get or check out e-bay!! LOL!
Hmmm we still haven't heard from momof3.....I so anxious!
Hey dolls!!!!!! Well I guess you probably could tell from my lack of posting that I was..oh...just a little busy...hehe. Anyhoo....I went to the dr on Wed July 23rd and thought that I might be leaking fluid. At the appt I was 90% effaced and dialated to 3cm so he stripped my membranes and asked how I felt about going on over the hospital since he was on call. Turns out I wasn't leaking fluid but since I was already term and have a history of big babies we'd go ahead and induce me. I didn't really need inducing b/c I was already in early labor and as soon as he stripped my membranes I had a HUGE contraction. Guess I was already ready and didn't know it. We got into labor and delivery at around 4 and I gave birth to my PRECIOUS angel around 1:02 am on July 24th. She's adorable!! Head full of dark brown hair (like DH) weighed 8lbs 9ozs and 20 inches long. I had a rough delivery b/c she was face up (OUCH!) and could barely walk for the next 2 days. Turns out my dr was right to send me over to the hospital b/c I had blood in my amniotic fluid and clots where he thinks my placenta was beginning to separate...and the cord was wrapped around her neck. I'm just so glad she's here. She's nursing great and isn't too bad of a sleeper letting me get about 4 hrs at one stretch once she goes to bed at night. I'm still on a high from the whole birthing experience and really miss being pregnant...but this was my last pregnancy since I'm getting so darned old! LOL! Anyways...just wanted to check in. Glad you guys are doing so well and it's just a matter of time for you too! Oh...almost forgot....I gave up the fight for Emerson....so it's Avery Faith as her name. It suits her though. She's just so darned cute! Talk to you guys soon!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's so great. I'm so happy for you and your family!!!
Sounds like you had a bit of a rough labour, but I'm glad to hear things are going well now, and everyone is getting settled.
I'm just so excited for you!
I can't wait to meet our little one - hearing your story just makes me want it all the more!
I had a dream last night that we had a boy - we'll see!!
Anyway, congrats again and take care! I know you'll be be busy, but keep us posted once in a while with any news or just plain gushing about Avery Faith!
That is just WONDERFUL! I am so glad you and the baby are doing well :) Face up, OUCH!! I watch those baby shows and I have seen how hard it is to give birth to a face up baby, you're a trooper!! I bet she is just as pretty as she can be! I can't wait to hear more about lil Miss Avery Faith :)
Just like you Lilpig, this makes me more excited to get to the finish line, after this one I think I will be happy to hang my hat on my pregnancy days.
I went to Labor and Delivery this past Saturday because I woke up in the middle of the night spotting bright red blood. They can't find where it came from and it was gone about as fast as it came. The baby seems fine and active... SO that is my latest pregnancy mystery...
Mandy did they give you an u/s to see if they could find anything? That is very strange indeed. Were you freaked out? I think I would have been until I knew everything was ok.
I'm glad to hear all is well though. Whew!
Hey guys! I had a minute and wanted to check in. Mandy-what's up w/ the bleeding?!! OMG! I would have been freaking out too! Glad it has stopped but I would still want to know where it came from. Make sure to get lots of rest and stay off your feet as much as possible...dr's orders...hehe.
I can't belive Avery is 2 weeks old today! Gosh it goes fast! I'm only out 8 weeks and then it's back to work. It's going to be so hard. Lil Pig, I'm still very envious of your extended maternity leave...enjoy every minute of it! I'm only going back 4 days a week though, so that should help. She's laying across my lap as I'm typing this. God has truly blessed me w/ an angel. She couldn't be more perfect. I'm actually going to try and upload some photos to this website (I'm not too savvy w/ the computer but am going to give it a shot) so you guys can meet her. If you guys get the time, read back to the beginning of this post. What a journey! I think I'm going to try to print it or save it somewhere so Avery can read it when she's grown. It documents how much I wanted her and each moment of my pregnancy.
Lilpig-I'm still in awe of you not finding out the sex! I'd be dying!
I haven't had any more bleeding since. Strange huh? I was really freaked out when I woke up to find that but after being checked out, I felt better that they couldn't find anything wrong. They really don't know what caused it or why, but they say the baby is doing great and everything looks good. They did give me a u/s when I went to the hospital that night.
I guess I am just going to leave it as a fluke thing and as long as her activity stays normal and there is no more blood. *hehehe* She is stretching out making room in there while I type this.
How precious! I can't wait to see Avery's pictures!! I am going to go check for them once I finish this message.
I am sure unborn has probably had her baby by now too... I wonder how she is doing?
Lilpig, looks like you are next....are you excited or what?! Did the furniture come in yet?
Well, the bleeding came back, of course in the middle of the night again. It was more pink than red this time. I just don't understand why that it happens in the night. I woke up my hubby just to show him so I wouldn't be accused of dreaming it. Went to the doctor's that morning and he did another ultrasound and checked me. He thinks that it is my cervix. The baby does beat me up a lot down there so he is pretty sure that is where the blood is coming from. Same as last time, haven't had any more bleeding since and the baby seems happy and active.
62 days to go! My gut feeling is this baby will be here before that though....I am hoping more like 49 days to go...
That's so strange Mandy, but I'm sure glad everything continues to be fine.
I hope it doesn't keep up too much for the duration of your pregnancy.
Yikes, I just realized I have 25 days until my due date. That's insane! And we're sooooo not ready - but for some reason it doesn't bother me. All I can do is laugh ;)
I feel there is so much baby in my tummy now. The last week has gotten really uncomfortable. Even my groin area and pelvic bones in that are are super tender and sore. It feels like I've been constantly horseback riding all day or something!
Well, not much longer now! And I've only got 2 days of work left. Yippeee!!!!!
I forgot to tell you!
I have a 4D (3D + real time video) ultrasound scheduled for Sept 12th. There's a new place opened in the city (UC Baby) that does this just for non-diagnostic purposes. It's still a certified technician (legally has to be), but just for fun. THe only thing it, they don't open until September 8th, which explains my late appointment time. By then, if I haven't had the baby, I'll be almost 39 weeks. At that stage, the baby may be too big to get a good view of anything (so close up!). So, I'll get a special trial rate (still $100!!) that I can upgrade from depending on what we can see. I just want to see the face - but again if it's too close up, it migiht be all distorted and funny looking. I'm crossing my fingers that we'll get something good. I'm excited about it - just hope I'm not disappointed!!
Wow! You don't have too far to go... How exciting! I can't wait to find out what you are having... once you have that baby you'll have to make sure and (when you can) get on here and tell us. Do you think you are going to make it to your due date?
I hope you can post a couple of the 4D pics if you make it to then to have it done. When I had mine done she wouldn't cooperate too well...ugh.. seemed like forever to get a face shot. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too!
My doctor said he will induce me at 39 weeks if make it that long and there is some change in my cervix by then. Mainly because I have big babies and I live in more of a rural area and not very close to any hospital. He doesn't think I will make it that long because I have yet to carry a baby past 38 weeks. So we shall see on that...
BUT No more bleeding since... just very very light (have to look for it) spots of pink or brown blood once and a while. I have started having stronger Braxton Hicks contractions though. This pregnancy has been very interesting....
How about you... had any contractions that you know of yet? Have they started checking you for cervix changes yet? My doctor won't start checking me until 36 weeks.
Hey dolls! I'm back at work as of yesterday...and it's ****! I want to be home sooo bad but financially we just can't do it w/out my salary. My computer at home was also **** so I didn't try to post anymore from there, so you'll see more of me...and I'm going to try to post pics today.
Lil Pig-I'm sure you've had the baby by now!!! Please post ASAP!!
Mandy-You're just around the corner too! Wow!!
Dang! It looks like AF is coming back! Ugh! And I'm still excusively breasfeeding. ...weird, huh??
Welcome back! Although I'm sorry you had to go back to work. I bet you miss having that time with the baby. I hope I can swing working from home again once Madison comes, we are in the same boat, we need my salary. Things are getting a little too tight lately so the sooner the better. If you still have my myspace page info, we have pics of the nursery on there.
I am pretty sure Lil Pig had her baby... I can't wait to hear about it! I keep checking for her update.
I kept having cramps so bad they kept me up all night that I went to the hospital to just make sure everything was ok last Sunday. I was not dialated any and was 40% thinned out. The baby was -3 station. I had a pretty bad UTI infection, ugh.
SO I go to the doctor today. I am praying for a change in my cervix, since I had a little of pink spotting last night. With my boys I was already dialated at this point so I am just a little confused as to why not with this one. I know it's still early... I was never good at the patience thing...LOL
Hi ladies, I'm back!! Sorry it took so long. I finisehd work a few weeks early and then my computer was out of comission for two weeks while I was home. Then baby came early!!!
We had a little boy, Owen Edward (middle name after my dad who passed away when I was a little girl) who arrived on September 12th at 11:51pm! He weighed in at 7 lbs 3.5 oz, and although he was early, they said he looked like he was overdue because he was all dried out. But he's happy and healthy and just perfect!
We had our 4D u/s that morning, all during which I was in early labour and just thought I had gas pains. I got home from there at around noon, and by then I figured I was in labour. I stayed at home until almost 9 pm that night, and when I got to the hospital I was only 4cm. I was totally disappointed - I had hoped that I would be further along than that. But an hour and half later I was 8 cm!! And after another 1.5 hours (including only 33 min of pushing!), Owen was here! We thought for sure his birthday would be the 13th, but he came very fast :) The docs said on the necxt one, I shouldn't stay at home at all!! LOL!
Anyway the last 2 weeks have been a roller coaster. Because he came so fast, his head didn't have time to mold to my body at all, and I ended up with quite a few stitches (but he had a perfect little head!). After I got home from the hospital the stitches got infected - that pain was worse than labour I swear. I couldn't sit down for a full week. Then the antibiotics for that infection gave me a yeast infection in my breasts - talk about fire nipples!! LOL! Anyway I'm on the mend now, and things are feeling much better. So only for I have a wonderful little boy to look at I'm not sure I'd ever want to go through any of that again :)
Ok gotta run - hubby has supper ready! God love em :)
Congratulations! I bet you are so proud :) Does he have any hair? I bet he is adorable... can you post a pic?
Wow, for your first baby you had a really, really quick delivery!! I am jealous. This will be my 3rd baby and I doubt mine will be that quick. If it is, I will be grateful.
So sorry to hear about all the problems you had after birth. I had similar problems (although not to the extreme of yours) after my first one. I am so glad to hear you are starting to feel better now.
Whooo hoooo... I found out that my cervix has started changing. The doctor said I was 1 cm and still about 40% or so thinned. They are going to schedule and induction at 39 weeks if she doesn't come before then. So I should have my bundle of joy with in the next 2 weeks or so... I am so excited!
Lil pig-Congratulations!!!!!!! I know you're sooo proud! Sounds like your labor was a dream...and for your first...you're VERY lucky. I know you're having so much fun w/ him and being a mom. Isn't it incredible! Sorry to hear about your bottom and hope it heals up nice and quick for you.
Mandy...WOOHOO!! I know you're beside yourself w/ excitement now!! Make sure to get all your ducks in a row since it's just around the corner. I'm jealous! Labor and delivery has always been the best part of pregnancy for me and I always feel so disappointed when it's over. Enjoy these last moments!
Thank you!
I just had another doctor appointment today and I was almost 2cm and 50% thinned. The baby was at -2 station. They are going to call me tomorrow and let me know what day I go in to have her, that is unless she comes on her own first.
Oh just a quick question - have any of you ever had tenderness/pain in your urethra after childbirth? I thought it was just tenderness from the whole ordeal, but it hasn't gone away yet. It almost feels like a bad bruise, but also hurts, as if pulling, if I tilt my pelvis a certain way. Do any of you know if this is normal? I'll have to mention it to my doc when I go next week.
What a HANDSOME little man!! I bet you are so proud of him. How are the nights going for you guys? Is he up on a regular schedule?
I can't wait to post some pictures of Madison up. Although we had the 4D ultrasound I still can't wait to see what she looks like in person.
I would certainly mention it to the doctor. I had some strange things happen after the birth of my first baby but I don't recall having tenderness there. Then again it has been over 8 yrs since I last gave birth. Let us know what you find out.
I was supposed to be able to schedule the induction but now my doctor said because he wasn't the one to examined me last that he would prefer to examine me one more time before we schedule anything. (the last doctor appointment I had my doctor was out so they had me see another doctor.) UGH! That really put a damper on my day. I go back in on Tuesday to let him check me for himself then I should be able to schedule the induction. I am just hoping that Sunday I will go on my own and then we don't have to worry about it. I am dog sitting for someone right now so that is why I picked Sunday...LOL.
Mandy-Avery is just the most precious thing! She's 11 weeks already and smiles and coos and melts my heart. She sleeps all night from like 9:30 to 7 and nursing is a breeze. I couldn't ask for better...except...she HATES to ride in the car! Makes for some very long trips.
LilPig-is the pain your having inside or out? I still have pelvic pain right in the front of my pubic bone and am wondering if yours is in the same spot. I'll peek at the pics!
Yeah, the pain is rignt in front of my pubic bone, right at the top of the urethra. Hurts to press on that area.
Sounds like Avery is a dream!! Owen isn't too bad either. He still wakes for feedings in the night obviously, but he's sleeping longer and longer all the time! Sometimes I worry if I should be waking him to eat!!
Mandy good luck!! Hopefully you'll have your little bundle soon. I knoiw this must seem like forever for you!!
Lil Pig-Sounds like our pain might be similar. My dr says that there is cartilage in the front of your pubic bone and I must have really damged mine when I delivered probably b/c Avery was "sunny side up". 3 months out, it's better but not healed by any means. Have you talked to the dr??
Any word from Mandy??? She's bound to have had that baby!
I had my baby!! Madison Paige came on 10/12/08...it's funny because I the last I wrote I said that I wanted to go into labor on my own on Sunday. I have learned to be careful for what I ask for because labor actually started 10pm Saturday night- we ended up leaving for the hospital at 2am Sunday morning. I didn't have her until 6:58pm Sunday evening. She was 9lbs 7oz and 21 1/2 inches. Labor was harder than my other kiddos but when it came time to push, I had her out in less than 5 mins. :)
So far she has slept through the night 3 times (which we are very thankful) BUT all the other nights have been a bear. I am thinking I better get in a nap now just in case she is up again tonight. I just thought I would stop by and share the news:)
Welcome home Madison!! She's so cute...and a big baby too! I know you're so glad to have her home w/ you. Hopefully her sleeping all night will come on a more regular basis b/c I know how rough that is. I was so flipping exhausted that I felt like my head was tied to a string and I was carrying it around like a balloon. Get some rest and put up some more pics when you can. Congrats!
Wow congrats Mandy! She adorable!
Sorry I haven't been around much - busy busy these days, but loving every minute of it!
I can't believer how fast the time is going by and how much Owen has grown!
He's been sleeping through the night (11pm to 5 or 6 am) for about 2 weeks or more now, which is great. Last night he slept from 11pm to almost 6:30 the next morning!! It was great :)
Hope everything is going well with the rest of you - I'm going to go see if you've posted any more pics. I may stick on a new one myself!
Thank you both! Sorry I have been wrapped up in so many different things lately. Maddie is such a good baby and we are enjoying her so much! My husband got fixed on our due date so she is it for us. I want to cry because she is growing so fast...she is already 8 wks old!
I had another prenatal appointment yesterday. Heartbeat was 140 and all seems well. My uterus is already above my belly button and I'm not even 18 weeks. Apparently it's normally at your belly button at around 20 weeks. But when she measured the length it was right where it was supposed to be - it's up so high already because I have such a short upper body! I always said that when I got pregnant there was nowhere for it go but out! I put on 2.5 lbs since last month. I have no idea how much I have put on in total because I don't really know how much I weighed before. I'm guessing about 7 lbs in total maybe, but it's hard to say. I think it's all belly and boobs though!!! LOL! Good thing though, cause I'm soooo not into treadmills :(
Mandy I loved your story about the frogs - I can't remember seeing a frog except for on TV or at some kind of reptile and creepy crawly show. I wouldn't have the faintest idea where to even find frogs up here...in fact I don't even know if we have them in my province. If we do, they aren't very common! I would think catching frogs as a kid would be so much fun!!!
Mandy-how far along are you again??
momof32b - You've only got about 3 months now right? Woohoo! I have a friend who's due around the same time, maybe in fact the exact same date. Small world :)
Oh my!
Hope you feel the baby again soon Mandy!
I can't believe 30 weeks already! I wish I was there with you, I used to love being pregnant but to be honest I want the next 21 weeks to go in fast forward. 7 more days till our ultrasound... I really can't wait!!
The next 6 weeks until that u/s are going to be torture :(
Try not to worry too much Lil Pig.
Does that mean everyone on here is having girls? I can't remember. I swear the baby brain is getting so BAD these days - worse all the time. I feel like an idiot more often than not!! LOL!
Weird.
This explains the foot growth and why it happens:
Glad to hear everyone is doing well!!
Good luck - and I hope you make it to the shower!!
Ha ha!
Lil Pig...so no worries since the u/s...whew! You've got some willpower not finding out the sex. Keep us posted!
Well perhaps the next time we hear from you, you'll be a proud new mommy - and hopefully your little girl will have a name by then ;)
Good luck and keep us posted if you can!
But Avery Faith is really beautiful!! And since neither of you hate it, you really can't go wrong :)
Mandy, I was wondering about the painting thing myself, so thanks for the info momof3! We're still in the throws of finishing our basement, and there will be lots of painting involved in the next little while. I'd also like to paint our main floor too, but I think I have enough on my plate for now!
Ooohh, new clothes just came by courier for me...I must go try them on. I ordered some things to try and find something suitable for the wedding I have in August. Wish me luck!
How do the clothes look??? Don't you just love maternity clothes!!?!! So comfy!
You must be an itty bitty thing for mediums to be too big. Bless your heart! Be glad though. I'm an XL and have been from day one. Just think though, you'll be back in regular clothes before your baby is a month old. Have you looked at motherhood.com for anything? They have cute and reasonably priced stuff. Most of my stuff came from there and I'm going to sell it all on ebay after Avery is born.
I go back to the dr tomorrow at 4:40 and pray they'll check me again. Cross your fingers for progress!
Yippeeeeeeeee!
Good luck!
Unborn, you're getting close as well! How are you doing?
Although my hubby told me the other day that he felt weird being intimate, not because of my size or anything, but just the idea of there being a baby in there. So they have apprehension as well. I thought it was just so cute.
That being said, finding a "position" that doesn't cause me pain or discomfort in some form or another has not happened in months. So needless to say, I can say "poor DH!" as well. Oh they're good for it!
Hope everyone is doing well... Think momof32b had her baby yet? She hasn't posted since Monday...
Hubby and I go for our 4D ultrasound today. VERY EXCITED!!!
I'm glad to hear all is well though. Whew!
Mandy - nope, no furniture yet. I"m getting anxious!
Glad to hear there's no more bleeding and everything seems to be going well.
Well I'm on my 2-week countdown for the end of work. I can't wait! I'm so exhausted these days, 2 weeks feels like it will be an eternity!
Lil Pig-I'm sure you've had the baby by now!!! Please post ASAP!!
Mandy-You're just around the corner too! Wow!!
Dang! It looks like AF is coming back! Ugh! And I'm still excusively breasfeeding. ...weird, huh??
Yeah, talk about a quick delivery. The nurses said if I have a second one that I should definitely not wait at home!
I just had another doctor appointment today and I was almost 2cm and 50% thinned. The baby was at -2 station. They are going to call me tomorrow and let me know what day I go in to have her, that is unless she comes on her own first.
How is your precious baby girl doing?
I've posted 3 pics of Owen so you can have a look :)
LilPig-is the pain your having inside or out? I still have pelvic pain right in the front of my pubic bone and am wondering if yours is in the same spot. I'll peek at the pics!
Hope everyone is doing well!
