Choroid Plexus Cyst (CPC)

I was wondering what choroid Plexus cyst because at my 19 week ultrasound a 9mm CPC was found on my baby. My doctor told me that normal babies can have this to but it can also cause downs I have been really worried lately because when i moved and went to see this other doctor he sent my for a urgent ultrasound so my guess was that this could really cause something so i was just wondering if someone could just give me some information about this cyst and what the cause could be.

Hello, I am not really sure about what it is but I found this web site today and it seems to have a lot of information and they also have a forum similar to this but for this condition. You will be in my thoughts.

God Bless
Christine

I am 22 years old on my first pregnancy & at my 19 week US my Dr. called to tell me not only does my son have a CPC that is 1.5mm but a second that is 1.7mm.  On top of that he has a small amount of fluid in his right kidney.  I immediatly got on the internet to research CPC.  A article made me feel a ton better: It stated 1-2% of pregnancies have fetusus with CPC. 50% of those are bilateral & 90% of them resolve themselves by the 26th week.  The only point that you should worry is if the CPC gets around 10mm.  So, I would say not to worry until you have a 2nd ultrasound, more than likely it is nothing.
