I had an emergencyEmergency airway puncture Emergency contraception c-section 7wks. ago and ever since I have had nothing but pain. Pain that not even narcoticDrug abuse painrelievers will relieve. It is in my left lower abdomin (abdomen) and feels like someone is stabbing me repeatedly. It is a constant pain that starts in the front of my lower left side of my abdomin (abdomen) and shoots through to my lower left side of my back and down my left leg. I have had several tests ran and are still having more ran can you give me an idea of what is really going on? My O.B. has mentioned it could be nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity related and said if it doesn't go away that he will have to put shots there to numb the nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity. That just doesn't sound right to me. Thank you for your help.
I had the same thing after I had my appendixAppendectomy out and it turned out that a nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity had been pinched in the incision site. They gave me cortizone shots for a couple of weeks to kill the nerve and now everything is fine. If the pain is shooting down your leg it may be your ciatica(sp?) nerve.
i had that for awhile after my last c-section. my doc said it was from the spinal I had to numb me. Mine went away on its own though after a few days so I didn't have to have treatment.
Sounds like nerve pain. My guess (Im not a doctor) would be that either the needle from the anesthetic or inflamation (inflammation)/scar tissue from the incision has got one or more nerve or nerve roots acting up. The way you describe your pain is classic for nerve pain. Steroids (and sometimes painkillers) can be injected at the site if taking them by mouth doesnt work. Just make sure your doctor knows what he/she is doing...if you have any friends with sciatica or chronic back problems, find out who they see. I have had several patients with similar pain, and the outcome of ones that required injections really depended on what doctor did them and if they used imaging techniques like flouroscopy to find the right nerve.
I had a c section one month ago. I was released after three days. I went back in hospital after three days home. I had a fever and pain in my addomen, I was admitted to hospital. After five days of antibiotics I was released with no explanations. I was admitted again, five days later with a high temperature, 2 weeks later I am still in hospital, with no explanations. All tests come back with nothing. If antibiotics are stopped infection comes back. All cultures show nothing.
