Circumcision Question

Circumcision Question

At my doctors appointment I recieved my hospital plan information... Which asks all the questions about if I want visitors and what I want during labor and stuff. It asked me if I wanted my little man to have anesthesia whilst getting the circumcision done. How many women opted for this and who didnt use the meds? Im not sure ehat to do he seems so little to be getting anesthesia

What my son had was sugar water, it calms them down and hits a pleasure reaction in the brain. I actually watched the entire procedure, he didn't seem to notice.

The anesthesia they are referring to is local anesthesia.  Its odd they give you the option not to have it.

I would never have surgery without an anesthetic.  Not to do so is cruel and horrifying.

No, it was sort of a given I thought. Kind of like going in for a root canal...you expect at the very least a local ;-)

I was not asked either...and during it, they gave him some pain reliever on a pacifier, and continued dipping the pacifier in the pain reliever for a while after the circumcision.

The "pain reliever" the pacifier was dipped in was sugar water.  This is common practice.
There is no pain reliever that a pacifier that be dipped in.

I'm sure they used a local.  Hopefully, anyway.

I don't know of anyone that would choose to not have a "local"   given for this procedure.

This refers to a local anaesthetic. If you are going to operate on an adult you would give them anaesthetic, a child is no different.
