Claritin-D 12 hrs during pregnancy... what do you think?

Does anyone have any idea about the safety of Claritine-D 12 hrs during pregnancy? My OB said it is safe to take Claritine, but how about Claritine-D 12 hrs?( allergy & congestion). I am 17 wks and started taking it alast week. Also what to you think about benadryl pseudoephedrine?

I heard straight sudafed was ok, I would check with dr again, he is the expert. see what others on here think

my doctor only allows me to take benedryl and chlortimetron. i have asked on several occasions about other meds, but he really tries to avoid them. (i am surprised though, because so many people tell me they're allowed to take other antihistimines. and my dr is not over cautious. he lets me take prescription antacids, and had me on prescription anti-nausea meds in the beginning.) i think it boils down to a risk-benefit comparison. my dh is a pharmacist and he agrees with the doc.

Benadryl, or diphenhydramine hydrochloride is the only anti-histamine I have had ok'd by my doctor.  Pseudophedrine is not recommended, therefore Claritin-D isn't either.  I think it's more that they aren't sure of the side affects than that there are definite problems with it.

I developed allergies and asthma during this pregnancy, and my doctor put me on Singulair and Clairitin, but told me that Clairin D is not safe.
