Clomid - cramping?!?/open forum if needed

by stephd, Apr 20, 2006 12:00AM
To anyone who is on or has been on Clomid.  Did you have cramping in your lower abdomen?  I got what I think was a + on my OPK on Friday and the line has since vanished (Monday) anyway I was wondering, could I be Oing now?  Or could this be something else.  Its not UNBEARABLE PAIN but it is stronger than AF cramps.  Its kinda off and on.  Like the more I walk the more it hurst sometimes.  If I sit for a long period of time then it is ok.  I dont know what to think.  Could it be implantation already?  CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?  Should I call my doctor and tell them of the cramping?  Have had this for a couple days now!  Its making me crazy and to top it all off, I have the 2ww!  IT SUX!

PLEASE HELP!!

I was on Clomid for 8 rounds, it sometimes made me feel crampy and some fluttering in that area.  I am sure there is nothing to worry about but if you are still feeling yucky and worring than talking to your doctor it would not hurt.  Are you also taking Metformin with your clomid?  I did it is suppose to make you alot more fertile if the two are used together.

When I was on Clomid AF came every 28days on the nose.  Never a day sooner or later.
Hope this helps, once you finish your first round you will be able to set your TTC around AF and finding when you are O will be easier also.
We also have a son he is gonna be 4 in June, when we had him, it took about 4mths and I was not day counting maniac like I am now.  It has been 2.5yrs of trying for our second.
Good Luck.

I hear ya it is hard not to wonder if the little guys made it into where they needed to be, or just to try and ignore the little feelings in your tummy.  I think sometimes what am I going to do when I actually get preggo(I am sure there will be other things to worry about than).
Good luck to you and your DH.

Yes I'm on clomid and this last time I got cramps the pain was pretty intense. We had also used an OPK and I really thought I was pregnant but yesterday AF came she makes me so mad. Hopefully something happens next month. What dose are you taking 50mg or 100mg?

I'm also on 50mg. My doctor didn't say anything but I see him friday so I will ask I think it is because they are helping you ovulate. I was on clomid for about 8 months and never got pregnant so we gave up and my best friend got pregnant a week later we found out we were also pregnant. My DS was born last June we never went on the pill becuase we want another one right but 10 months later we are still well I was pregnant in Jan. but miscarried in Feb. I really hope it will happens soon.

I have a question for everyone....I am about 6 weeks pregnant. I went last week for an ultrasound and there was no heartbeat. The doctor flat out told me I'm going to miscarry...very cold hearted. My boyfriend was with me and we just looked at each other. Is this normal for her not to even take any bloodwork or anything and not even check the next week or something for the heartbeat again??? I'm going to anther doctor next week. I've just never heard of a doctor just saying I'm going to miscarry and sending me on my way. Anybody got any ideas?????

i think it's weird that your dr. just told you you're going to m/c b/c he/she didn't hear or see a heartbeat at 6 weeks - from the posts i've seen from other people some don't hear/see heartbeat till a few weeks later - the only thing i could think of was that your dr. saw other signs of m/c, but i would think he would take bloodtests to check your hcg and progesterone levels. i m/c twice - i was told by my dr. i'd m/c both times before i actually did, but the dr. had more symptoms than just no heartbeat and took bloodwork to make sure and see what's doing. the first time i was told at about 7 weeks b/c the baby hadn't grown (was showing up as 6 weeks and a few days) and the heartbeat that they had heard at the last appointment had dropped - was getting slower. (i also had a tiny, tiny amount of staining day before my appointment), but even though my dr. warned me thought i'd m/c he checked my blood to see levels - and things were dropping. the second time around the u/s looked good - baby was about 6 and a half weeks (couldn't hear heartbeat, but saw flutter) and dr. said everything looked fine, sometimes too faint to hear, but was happy saw something (although again if you read p/p's old posts you'll see sometimes don't see or hear heartbeat till later), but my hcg levels were going down - only saw this once took blood - i was on progesterone so those levels were fine. then dr. called and said looked like i would m/c again. i think you should call your dr. and tell him/her that you'd like them to check your blood and ask if there was anything else that suggested m/c - tell them you're nervous and confused - if they don't respond to that i would seek out another dr. and opinion - a dr. not only has to be medically knowledgeable, but also have some feeling and sensitivity to his/her patient, in my opinion. even though my dr. did inform me that looked like would m/c he did it with compassion and sensitivity - he also never told me flat out that's it you're miscarrying - it was always it looks as if it will happen and wants to prepare me - and he answered my questions and concerns. I really hope that this dr. of yours is wrong and that you carry this pregnancy to the end and your baby is healthy - good luck and please keep me posted. If G-d Forbid you are m/c (i really hope you're not) please know you're not alone - this website is filled with wonderful people who have been in lots of tough situations and have prevailed - their stories and insight is a real comfort.
