Clomid and Miscarriage

by dasjjc, Mar 12, 2003 12:00AM
I am 30 years old and my husband I have been trying to conceive for the last four months.  I have a irregular period and was put on Clomid 100 mg to help in ovulation.  I misunderstood the doctor and took the clomid at the wrong time-day 1-5 instead of day 5-9.  After my second cycle I had symptoms of pregnancy.  I went to the dr to get tested.  Urine test turned out light positive so we decided on a blood test.  The very next day I had overexcessive bleeding.  After speaking to the office they decided I better come in for a look.  My blood test results came out inconclusive and the doctor checked me for any leftover tissue that could have been left had I had a miscarriage.  I bled and passed a large clot for five days.  The doctor contributed the bleeding to taking the clomid incorrectly and encouraged me to count day five from the day I started this bleeding.  I stopped bleeding on day 5 and started clomid.  I have been on clomid now for 3 days and today I started having cramps and bleeding like a period.  Could I have had a miscarriage?  If so is it suggested that I stop taking the clomid?  I am totally confused and now I think my body maybe as well.  Any suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
