Clomid and follicle size

I have been trying to get pregnant for 1 year now and having trouble.  Very irr periods for 8 mo so doc put me on Clomid to help me ovulate.  First month ultrasound had no follice, 2nd month there was a dominant follicle that was 2.5 cm on the 16th day and the doc. said that was too big and that I prob did not release the egg and ovul.  Cyst develped so now I am waiting for period to come(day 31) before I go back to see if the cyst went down.  Question is how big should follicle be to know that I ovulated and how do I know if I ovulated if the ultra does not tell me that?  I was very hopeful this month because my temp. was right on I dropped and then peaked and I had cramping in my lower left side on the 15th.

Can you ask for a HcG shot next time? With Clomid, I had a scan and when the follicle was 18-20mm I got the shot so I would ovulate in 36 hours. Good luck!

My suggestion to you is to get off clomid and not try to get pregnant and let God do His work!  It worked for me!  I was on Clomid for 6 months, decided to "take a break", 3 months later I was pregnant without drugs!  I am 9 weeks pregnant now!  Good luck.
